Do you guys remember all the fuss about NM tieing TD pass at the end of the IB and how prosch was blocking down field?

Well this is the rule on a pass that crosses neutral zone:

quote:

It is not offensive pass interference (A.R. 7-3-8-IV, V, X, XV and XVI): 1. When, after the snap, a Team A ineligible player immediately charges and contacts an opponent at a point not more than one yard beyond the neutral zone and does not continue the contact more than three yards beyond the neutral zone.

Prosch wasnt guilty then and technically tonight neither were the ND WRs, at least not the one called for pi. The Wr didn't initiate the contact but contact was ended within the yards.

Definitely had contact into the end zone when play started on the 3 so your crusade here is wrong

Jalen Ramsey initiated the contact which is rve bigger deal for me

It was technically the right call to the letter of the rule, I would just like consistency. That situation is called maybe once or twice every 50 times it occurs. Either or call it all the time or don't call it with 13 seconds left in a game with national championship implications.

I definitely agree. Just hard not to call it when the WR is straight up "blocking" the DB. All the WR needed was a bump and if he doesn't engage the DB with his hands for more than a split second it isn't called.

I get wanting refs to be consistent even if it's in a big moment but those refs didn't do that. They were neither consistent all game with that penalty, according to fsu, nor did they enforce unsportsmanlike conduct on that play which happened right in front of the ref who threw the pi flag.

Why is #26 allowed to take his helmet off in disgust of being completely out of position?

Did you call Ginger (Sirius XM College Sports - The First Team) this morning? Someone called in about this. Just curious...

Have you ever been to Chicago? That seems to be the ND city...for whatever reason, even though it's in Illinois, there are numerous ND faithful there.
I think it has something to do with Chicago being a fairly strong Catholic city, or at least a city with a very heavy Catholic population (37% of Cook and Lake County residents identify as Catholic).

Indiana, for whatever reason, is a little more diverse in the religious demographic. I was really surprised when I was in Vincennes a few years back that the city was historically more Presbyterian.

But back to the topic. F FSU and that tPOS QB.

Man that really is terrible for ND. FSU got bailed out big time. I can see why the officials made the call but it had zero impact on the play. The coverage FSU was in was terrible and had zero chance to defend that play. There needs to be some kind of rule like how you can't call defensive PI when the ball in uncatchable.
