I actually love corndogs and so do many other Americans.....I don't know why LSU fans catch so much hell from this.

From an Auburn fan who plagiarized it from the Big 8 and a play on Nebraska. It didn't start until LSU started winning championships.

This thread has the potential to go many, many pages. The SEC Rant is filled with people who only know how to express their jealousy and hatred of LSU with that word.

It was stolen from a big 12 school rivalry, but it's said that there's so much food being cooked at LSU tailgates that the smell gets this strange synergistic effect and ends up smelling like corndogs.

Sounds like something that could come from auburn, but pretty damn good nonetheless.
The corndogs, not the nickname

I don't get it either. Corndogs are delicious, along with pretty much every other thing that is cooked at an LSU tailgate. It wouldn't even be an insult if LSU fans didn't let it bother them so much.

I have heard that corn dogs are real popular at LSU tailgates & I've also heard that most LSU fans smell like corn dogs. Who knows? Either way, sucks for LSU... I wouldn't want to be known as corn dogs.

LSU faithful used to trade corndogs made of hashish to the native Indian tribes of NE Louisiana and the name just stuck. It's an interesting story, you should Google it.

I have been eating corndogs since my youth and I never really saw it as a negative. It humors me as a reverse troll by the Tigers on all the other folks who think they control the troll.

Well the corndog name wasn't based on LSU fans eating corndogs it was LSU fans smelling like corndogs
