Holy shite! They are claiming the compliance staff is overburdened with the swimming coach thing so they haven't even submitted their report to the NCAA...what the actual frick is going on here?
You drop that swimming coach bullshite like a hot potato when an actual money making sport is affected by a compliance issue.
If this is true, we deserve all the ridicule anyone wants to heap on.

One has to wonder how much truth the AJC puts out when UGA is concerned.

The choice of wording is very questionable and potentially misleading in that article. Following up "NCAA hasn't received request" with "UGA has been overburdened with the swim team" is either poor writing or evidence of ulterior motives.
I highly doubt UGA has this on the backburner while they sort out the swim team, but Chip Towers and his editors sure want to make it seem that way.

Didn't we hire him the best compliance lawyer out there? I'm fairly certain this isn't on the back burner, especially with that guy on retainer.....

Yeah, I dunno what his (Chip's) motive is.
1) He's a UGA fan and wants to light the fire under the university's arse
2) He doesn't like UGA and wants them to look bad
3) He's like most other reporters and likes to dramatize things by making things seem much worse than they actually are.
4) He sucks at writing
5) ??
Who knows. Could be a combination of the above.

This. He is the business of getting website hits and newspaper subscriptions.

My thoughts exactly! This to me shows that we are in trouble thus the need to hire an attorney and say Todd it's the best we can do for you now. I hope this is not the case because if the school believed they could speed the process up and get a one or two game suspension they would.

why would they need to speed up for a 2 gamer if they can get a ruling in 8 mins like Schlabaugh reported?
