I agree about Petty. Guy has always looked like just another plug and play QB in Briles' scheme.

did the OU FB get tossed or did they reverse that one too? That one was more blatant since it was helmet to helmet. I turned the channel though and didn't hear the replay result.

good lord I hate announcers. KSU has a 38 yd run and just barely steps out when he's hit and the announcer starts acting like there should have been a late hit flag. FFS what is a defensive player supposed to do? You are running full speed and you can't tell if a guy is stepping out or cutting back. That shite is called way too much as is

I completely agree. It's ridiculous.
Manziel took full advantage of defenders' general tentativeness along the sidelines for that reason.

yeah Johnny had that down to a science. He'd go to the sideline and then put his foot in the ground while sort of slowing. Defender stops, Johnny flies right by.

I thought so too at first and thought that was a great job by the defender and I was pissed. But I replayed it. It was on some lineman. Pretty weak call tbh but it wasn't on the hit on Petty.
