I would imagine ESPN isn't the most up to date on this matter. UGA sites are going to be ahead of national media, IMO.

Just because you went to espn.com this morning and saw an article doesn't mean the article was published this morning or is even still relevant.

A few hours after we learned of it here.

This was based on CMRs comments after practice. The University then came out and said CMR misspoke.

We're all going to better off as a fan base if we can just come to grips with the fact that we're probably never going to see Gurley play another down. This is the NCAA we're talking about. They're going to drag this out and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything until after Florida, at least. At that point, there's no real reason for Gurley to come back at all. I'd love it if he does, but he can't win the Heisman at that point, he can't improve his draft stock any more, why come back?

I could be wrong, but that's the approach I'm taking. The NCAA is going to frick us. It's what they do.

The NCAA will never forgive Georgia for ending their TV monopoly. Just like the SEC refs will always look for that extra penalty to punish Richt for storming the field during the Flarder game.

We should play him and if they don't like it we'll see them in court so they can lose again.

This very well could be the case. Oklahoma was the other school that made it happen. Do you get the impression the NCAA goes after them too?

The dawg fan in all of us wants that, my heart wants that too. But rationally speaking, if we play him and the NCAA comes back on Monday and says "we have concluded that the length of suspension is 2 games" and we thereby played an ineligible player...not only do we vacate/forfeit (can't remember which one it would be) the arkansas win but then we lose todd for even longer.

I want todd to play as much as anyone, but we just need to accept that the NCAA has us by the balls and there is literally nothing we can do about it. It's out of UGA/Richt/McGarity/Morehead/our lawyers/etc's hands. All we can do now is wait for those slow as molasses suits in indy to give us their ruling. And that sucks.
