Will the state of Mississippi enjoy the same success as the state of Alabama?

From 2009-2013, either Auburn or Alabama appeared in the National Championship game. Alabama in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Auburn in 2010 and 2013. This also included Alabama winning the SEC in 2009 and 2012, and Auburn winning the SEC in 2010 and 2013.

Will the state of Mississippi take this success and transition it into long term success? Both have had some pretty damn good recruiting classes as of late and some real super stars. Ole Miss and Mississippi State both have some pretty good coaches, although Dan Mullen might not be there much longer. Both are gaining momentum as the season goes on.

Obviously, this season is still unwritten (Auburn and Alabama both still have a chance to add to their resume from recent years), although both are in good position. All things considered, this has been a crazy season so far and I can't wait to see how things shake out.

No. 2009-2013 was absolutely ridiculous, even for football in Alabama.

While I hope we do, it's unlikely we see that five-year run ever again. It was unbelievable.

Not 2009-2013 success. Ole Miss will be good again next year, but I don't know after that. Gonna need a good class this year.

So far, yes, absolutely. Mississippi State beat Auburn and Ole Miss beat Alabama. However, Auburn still has a chance at Ole Miss and Alabama still has a chance at Mississippi State.

It's going to be a fun ride.

But both teams should be solid for a while.
