You know, so he can actually see the fricking field and not have Saban breathing down his neck? shite would get on my nerves after a while.

It doesn't matter if we constantly turn the ball over.

No, I prefer having him on the field.

Especially since Blake can hardly figure out wtf to do with Kiffin on the field, I don't wanna know what will happen if Kiffin isn't there to help him.

I agree. Our 5th year senior QB needs his hand held.

It's amazing to me that Saban has
only recruited one good QB (AJ) in 8 years.

Thank goodness Shula left us with JPW
and Gmac. And the Shula QBs are the only
ones with perfect regular seasons... Weird

Kiffin not seeing the field isn't the problem. SIms not being able to see the field over his OL is the problem, or a huge part of it.

Kiff being in the booth also won't help the OL run block any better.

Well...in defense of Saban's "failure" at the QB position, JPW and GMAC were each playing in an SEC quite unlike the one we have today. In 2008 there were two great teams and two decent teams. The rest were average to mediocre. You saw the same thing in 2009. Two great teams, two decent teams, the rest of them ranging from average to mediocre.

Those QBs also had the benefit of two very stout defenses playing against offenses that were more traditional. Even the 2011 defense played against offenses far more traditional then they are today. The SEC has changed so much in such a short period it's almost hard to believe it's the same league.

The recruiting isn't the problem. It's the development once they get to UA that has been disappointing.

Coach has him on the field for a reason.

We are averaging about 5 fumbles every meaningful game (WV, FL, Ole Miss, Ark).

I don't think changing our OC's location is going to affect this statistic.

Agreed. You can no longer have a Qb that just "gets out of the way." They have to be a bit more dynamic. Tebow was once thought of as a once-a-generation type QB...then Cam came along...then Manziel...now Prescott.

Well, that's yet to be seen. There are a few guys on the team now that could turn out to be great. We have Bateman, Cornwell and Barnette coming in next spring. So, we really don't know if you are correct. I wish one of those guys would have won the starting job this year so we would not need to break in a new qb again next year. Sims has played pretty well so far and gives us the best opportunity to win now.

wtf is this shite? We are 6 games post AJ and you make this comment?

AJ through six games in 2011: 1156 yards, 8 TDs, 2 INTs

Sims through 6 games in 2014: 1480 yards, 10 TDs, 3 INTs

This is with AJ having a far superior Oline and running game, and facing significantly worse competition.

Agreed. We had 3 years to prepare someone for after AJ and we're left with Sims? Pathetic.

To be fair, AJ was a RS Sophomore in 2011 and Sims is a 5th year senior. In 2011 IMO, we did have a much better Oline and RB's. Julio was gone and again IMO the 2011 WR's were average. In 2014 Cooper is an elite WR and he has helped Sims. I guess like someone else said, Saban has recruited well, but the QB's just haven't gotten better. Sims has been lucky with multiple INT drops. I think Coach was counting on J Winston coming to Bama, and who knows how'd that turn out, but it's kinda crazy that we are in the QB situation we are in now. I hope Blake gets better.

Is it?

Phillip Sims, imo, had a lot of potential, but got beat out and went to Virginia and turned out to not be so great.

Phillip Ely was never gonna be an SEC QB.

Alec Morris has had trouble holding onto the 3rd string spot.

I think now we've got guys like Bateman, Cornwell, and Barnett who are really talented.

AJ also had LESSER WRs, only 1 of his 2 RBs was healthy for some of that stretch, and he was only a 3rd year player. Sims is a 5th year player.

I dunno, just seems like it would be easier to call the offense from in the sky rather than on the sidelines. Kiffin was in the booth during his USC days as OC.

This is a scary comment to make at this point in the season, but you are right.

Too much truth in this post.

Funny how having one of the all-time best O-Line's and an amazing rushing attack is now being marginalized because it doesn't fit the desired theme.

No true Bama fan is pulling against Blake Sims.

He is all heart and a great team player. The problem is, he is following a two time NC QB and Heisman runner up. Blake's problem is his command on the field. The game management. He gets confused. He is an older guy and that's frustrating. We have been hit hard by injuries, no doubt. I don't know, I guess some fans just feel like Bama should have a great QB. I'm pulling for Sims b/c he is obviously our best option. He just needs to get his mind right.
