Not a chance. He hasn't had an opportunity to prove himself for a full season. He's an unknown commodity in they eyes of scouts, IMO.

I want to beat the piss out of Alabama. Already got that date circled on the calendar.

I'd trade a close loss to Bama for beating the piss out USCe, Tenn, and Fla.

Not a bad set up. Obviously Bama and Auburn from the West is tough, but getting Bama at home after Southern is nice and I expect them to have some issues offensively next season. Playing Georgia Southern prior to Tech is always good news IMO. Open date before UF is always nice. Carolina has a conference game the week before us, no extra time to prepare and we get them at home. Can't hurt anything.

The Bama, UT, Mizzou stretch will be tough, specifically the game in Knoxville. In a perfect world we'd be 5-0 going into that game, but the world is never perfect.

Overall, next year comes down to who leaves early and who stays IMO. Defense can be nasty in year 2 under Pruitt if Jenkins and Floyd both return. We'll be breaking in a new QB, but so will Carolina, Bama, UT, AU, and UF depending on how the year plays out. AU probably has a leg up right now in that regard with Johnson getting some quality PT here and there. We really need Theus and Mitchell to stay and Houston to be granted a 6th year. If those 3 things happen, then the offense can be very good.

Southern University Jaguars. Baton Rouge, La. Southwest Athletic Conference. One of the historic Black colleges. I've seen them play Alabama A&M here a few times. Another Charleston Southern class team.

I dig it. I'm very very pleased that the initial thoughts from sicemdawgs that a few of those dates (mainly, ULM on 11/7) were incorrect, as that would've really thrown a wrench in everything.

ULM- should be a gimme win and give all the new faces (of which there will be plenty) some time to get their feet wet.

Then instead of SC in week 2 as usual, we get vandy. Gets our new guys some road experience and again should be an easy win. Also gives our guys that are suspended 2 games a chance to come back. SC will be tough, but after that it's another gimme before bama. Our new QB and new faces on defense should be pretty solidly tested by that point. We will also be the first true road game of the season for bama.

Then @ut which will be tough, but certainly winnable. missouri at home is a win. bye then florida. uk at home. @AU will be pretty stout, then 2 gimmes.

Really it's about as good as you could hope for.

I agree. We get two warm up games for SC and a conference win to boot. It sets up great to get the season going in the right direction

I like playing ULM and Vandy in weeks 1 and 2. We're going to have a bunch of freshmen playing next year, so it'll be good to not have to play a ranked opponent week 1.

yep.

I'm also very curious why we play vandy 2nd instead of USC. We typically always play ut/vandy back to back. Doing a little research, it looks like in 2013 there was 1 game in between them, but prior to that it was 1995 the last time they weren't back to back.

At any rate, I'm glad it worked like that. Awesome break for us the way that early part sets up. Bama has a gimme win the week before us, but they'll have 2 tough tests before they get to us with wisconsin and ole miss.
