Recounting your life

If it were possible to reenact your life (knowing the bad choices you have made and the people you have negatively affected) would you? Rationally, if you have 'sobered' up to the reality that we will all die one day, have you changed your lifestyle choices and how you treat family, friends, neighbors, relatives, or enemies?

I try not to think about what might have been, because that was then, and I've taken a different road.

I know I've learned from my mistakes, but I guess making some mistakes to learn from is inevitable.
I hope I would do better, but doubt I would be perfect.

Looking back I wish I had kept up with some of my old friends more, and there may be a couple of bad decisions that I wish I wouldn't have made. As a whole though, I don't regret much, but have tried to learn from mistakes.
I've never been one to treat others badly, and I don't think I have any enemies, but I also wish I had spent more time with extended family growing up. That was out of my control though.

I would only change one major decision in my life If I had the chance. And I have been through more than most here due to age.

Why are there so many deep, depressing threads here and on the OG OT?
Seems a couple times.a week there are threads about greatest disappointments, failure to reach one's full potential, etc etc. Do y'all really sit around reflecting on your own lives all the time?

I do.

You can learn a lot from a little reflection sometimes.
As for the OP, I only have two big regrets looking back. First, is I wish I would've spent more time with my brother while he was here. We were close, but for years we fought like cats and dogs (like most siblings 4 years apart do). Obviously in hindsight it's easy to say that because it was just pretty typical brother/sister stuff but I wish I had more of the years before he passed when we he was as much a good friend as he was my brother.
The other would be leaving my job at a group home in Southern Indiana. While I enjoy my job now I really, really enjoyed working there. Unfortunately once I got out of school I needed to move onto somewhere that had a full-time position open and benefits. And at the time they didn't have one. Had I held on 4 months later, I would've gotten one.
On the flipside I wouldn't be who I am today or have the people around me today that I do if I changed that course.

The past and future don't really exist, only the here and now, at least as far as consciousness is concerned. The rest is just useless mind noise that isn't beneficial 99.9% of the time.
But I'll play regardless. Yes, I have to events in my life I regret, and if given the opportunity, would change.

Her last name start with a B? I've been at the same school for 8 years and it's a huge district so it's entirely possible that I don't.

On the one hand, I think there are some things I regret. However, I wouldn't change anything, including those. Those mistakes and things I regret, played a part in decisions and actions that shaped my life as I went forward. Had they not been there to give me pause to reflect and learn from, future decisions could have been worse without the knowledge gained from the previous mistakes.
Regrets, I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention.

I could have fricked so many more bitches. Especially in High School when I didn't know what I was doing with girls, I could have been taking all kinds of virginites, left and right.
