They absolutely can, although I think State has the stronger team.

It very well might come down to the egg bowl.

At least one of them matters.

I'm hoping that Auburn beats Ole Miss and Alabama beats MSU so that you go into the last day of the season with 10-1 MSU playing 10-1 Ole Miss and 10-1 Alabama playing 10-1 Auburn. West comes down to the head to head tiebreaker between the two teams that win the rivalry games. Would be awesome.

You mean that's what you got out of the Derpfest game in Starkville and seeing Ole Miss march into Texas A&M with 110,000 fans and play almost perfect football?

I'd say Ole Miss is the most-likely to go to ATL at this point:

H2H win over Bama already
State and Auburn @ home
Down year for LSU so OM will be favored in BR
Arky is semi-scary but not OM's caliber

No, it wouldn't be awesome because no one wants either Alabama team to ever win again and if they were remotely close to winning the West that weekend, the SEC would frick the MS schools in every way imaginable.

I think State has the better defensive front seven, and, without question, the better quarterback. By my estimation, those two position groups are pretty important indicators as to who has the better football team in this league.

I might be wrong, but for me at least, at this point in the season, I'd go with State.

I think both are excellent football teams, and should be ranked 1 and 2 nationally.

I agree. I also don't understand why some Ole Miss fans get so defensive about that. They'll have a chance to settle it on the field so who really cares at this point.

If this was true:

no one wants either Alabama team to ever win again

then this wouldn't be true:

MSU and OM are not unbeatable
I don't think any SEC teams survive unscathed
Get ready for all the tiebreaker threads

it was just Jed's opinion, don't be so sensitive. Ole Miss has a good team as well.
