You know what would be nice? Former players speaking to the team

And by that I mean like the guys from the 08 and 09 class. Guys who came here and built this dynasty. You can get all the legends to come in, you can get all the men who have triumphed over adversity, but how about the guys who knows what it takes to win here? The guys who established the "Make Their arse Quit" mantra? I know they visit from time to time, but it'd be nice if maybe once a week Saban could get someone to talk to the guys. If their NFL schedule doesn't permit it, get a good skype connection or something.
I'm talking about guys like Mark Ingram, Dont'a Hightower, AJ McCarron, Julio Jones, Chance Warmack, Nico Johnson, Courtney Upshaw, etc.
Guys who personify what this program is all about. Get them to keep these guys hungry.
And then get some guys from before Saban. Get a Jarrett Johnson. Get a DeMeco Ryans. Get a Brodie Croyle. Let them talk about what it was like when Bama wasn't winning championships.
I don't know maybe I'm just way off base with this idea.

I assume they already do. I know I see pictures of guys back in town a good bit to workout in the offseason or during a bye week.
If this whole NFL thing doesn't work for Barrett Jones I would love to have him come back and be on the staff in some capacity. He was on the radio in Memphis this past summer and they asked him why he picked Bama coming out of high school. His response was basically what you mentioned in the OP.

Don't know 'bout the others, but I've seen Ingram on the sidelines of lots of games in the past few years...

Maybe it would help, but at the end of the day these guys have to want it.
