I know it was mizzou but we've given up points to lesser teams. Do y'all think we're starting to see sparks of chemistry? Maybe the team banded together with Gurleygate in our midst, but I feel like there will be an even more sense of togetherness if he's playing vs Arky.

It seems so and don't forget most of the points we gave up to Vandy was with some backups in late in the fourth if I remember right.

I think so. I mean...Mizz offense is def one of the weaker ones we've faced...but to dominate like we did was impressive. And I mean total domination. I'd say we have finally turned a corner. Oh and Grantham defense lost to clemson so frick that fat turkey necked bastard.

I was most impressed with the coverage as they looked very good.

We have a new defensive game plan. We get Gurley back and run in often in the first half. If we are losing, we suspend him to piss the D off for a second half shutout.

Yeah I mean our OL blew them the frick up. They were giving Thompson 8 seconds average to pick apart our secondary. Give me 3 3-4 star receivers and 8 seconds and i bet I could pick apart any secondary too.

Would love to see the replay of the Lo Carter sack towards the end of the game. Precursor of things to come.

Yea I'm hoping they're starting to gel. The pressure from our front 7 was great but this was really the first time that the secondary helped them a lot. Mauk was even going through all his reads and throwing it away at times.

I like seeing Pruitt shifting around DBs until he finds a lineup he likes, and he definitely seemed to find it this weekend. At least for the style of offense Mizzou plays.

And Langley looked a lot more comfortable yesterday than he did last year. I'm interested to see how Pruitt sets the lineup this week though. He may not go 4-2-5 as much because we need Herrera/Wilson as well as Floyd/Jenkins/Carter as it's gonna be a much much more physical game.

Did anyone notice that we played man to man almost the entire game? That helps your pass rush which in turn helps your secondary. I hate zone defense and I hope Pruitt sticks with man the rest of the year.

IF our DBs are able to hang tight, but if they can't, then...

Langley going beast mode made a huge difference. If he keeps playing like that, we should be much improved.

So we give up a 70 yd td pass instead of a 70 yd drive for a td. I like our chances better in man and getting pressure.

I meant to respond to you Spiff

USCe and UT have badass WRs. Mizzou does not.

It's all about matchups, mayne.

Auburn has a few good ones, and will obviously be the biggest test we'll face until season's end.

I could be wrong, but I think 3 of their receivers are ranked in the top 20 in the SEC. I don't have time to verify that right now. Still, I'd rather take my chances playing man and getting pressure than watch our zone get picked apart a la USCe.

#5 Sasser & #19 Hunt, but he didn't play. No others in Top 50...

I didn't know that Hunt didn't play. I thought he was expected back for us. Thanks for the link.

Bud Sasser and Jimmie Hunt both played Saturday by the way. Didn't get open much or make many plays but they were both out there.

Our Secondary has looked better mainly due to tighter coverage and eyes looking for the ball at the right time. Our main problem is lack of depth

Yep, it was Darius White that sat out.

Random but in looking that up, also saw that Saturday was their largest home crowd since 1983 and 9th largest overall in program history

I didn't see much different really. We did play a lot of C2 man under stuff. A real accurate QB will eat that up if they have good blocking. A less accurate QB will throw ints. Granted, the ball bounced our way a lot. It was also good to see the safety's getting over and making plays on the ball.
