I figured this needed its own thread:

Say you have a 1 point lead with 12 minutes left and the other team has zero time outs, if the clock was running before a penalty, the clock starts back at 25 even after a penalty, so you could technically have movement in the offensive line at 5 seconds of each play clock and you could run the clock out with 12 minutes left, because after you get to the 5 then the 2 1/2 the one yard line the half yard line the inch line the fraction of an inch line, you run 25 seconds ( well 23 ) and have illegal motion.

SEC Crazy has been educating us on the rules of football for a while now
It's fun to get that expert analysis you cannot get anywhere else

He is definitely good for a "special" brand of analysis you just can't find anywhere else.

No they didn't, it's a technical screw up in the rules.

And the SEC office has apologized for the error of Mark Curles for not delaying the start of the clock until the snap.
In this instance, it really did not make any difference, other than they would have had to snap it one additional time and take a knee.

Whether or not it would have made a difference, I would absolutely want that 20 seconds to at least have a shot.

I have seen the fefs do the same thing before and the outcome of the game was changed. Evidently the refs don't know the rule or the SE office is wrong.
Either way, I have seen the clock start on penalties numerous times in te last 10 years since the new rules to speed up the game were implementation, so I assumed the rules were that the clock should start after all penalties, if not why has it happened so many times with no one saying anything about it for so long.
Anyone would assume that is the new rule if they see it over and over. Like I stated, rhe rule needs amending, so I disagreed with the rule. So if that isn't the rule, I have seen the refs do it over and over.
As for you LSU fans questioning my prognostications, I predicted an LSU decline 2 years ago.
I don't think the clock should continue when a player goes out of bounds, but it does, so maybe the refs are confused on the many I intricate clock rules. I am not, I know what I saw, a team get penalized 3 times in a row and the clock starting back every time.
So if it isn't/wasn't a rule then the refs have been screwing it up for a long time, over and over.
Notice I described a game I saw, I never said I looked up the rule azz0. Thus what I saw left me aghast, thus I clearly stated it should not be such. Dummy.

To be fair, there were a few agreeing with him in that thread.

This right here tells me you don't know the rules.
