Unfortunately, I haven't been able to watch a lot of y'alls games so I really don't have an opinion here, I'm just curious.

Y'all, like us, were worried about the OL going into the season. I have been more than pleasantly surprised that our OL has turned more into a strength than a liability.

With the way Bo has been playing, I have to assume your OL is playing much better than expected. Well maybe not better than expected, because it was supposed to be good but maybe have depth issues. Obviously when Day was out we found out what kind of depth we had and I would think by this point in the season y'all have a much more clear picture as well.

Any thoughts?

They're passable at this point.

They seem to be improving from game to game though along with our odd running game.

the line is our weakness. Doesn't help to have smaller rb's. They are big but slow and often miss blocks and can't move fast enough to pull. I think they are getting better though.

They appear to be pretty solid in pass protection and give us just enough in the run blocking. They are starting to gel.

I really really like what Rod Taylor has given us up front

He's pushed Justin Bell's fat arse to get better for sure

Has he become the first lineman that comes in behind the starters? He's going to be a freaking road grater, IMO.

So I guess the consensus is good, not great, doing better each week, could pose problems down the road?

I still find it odd that y'all haven't really recruited just a big arse rb that can push the pile for that 1 yard when you need it.

What are y'alls thoughts there? Isn't there a rb redshirting that could possibly be that guy?

They've played much better since the second half of Bama. Could've turned a corner.

I think our backs lack vision.

I'm finally ready to put some of our lack of a run game on our backs.

I watched the TAMU game and saw Jaylen just flat hit the wrong holes several times. He would have a wide arse gap to his left and run right.

Yeah, the second half of the bama game is about the extent of what I have seen this year.

Let's be honest though, Texas A&M's run defense is atrocious.

They haven't but one false start and hold is what I meant. Finally playing as a unit.

We didn't give up a single TFL against A&M. Considering we had 20 after Boise and Vandy I would say we are improving a lot every week.

Their pass protection is pretty excellent.

The biggest improvement made has been Ben Still not getting knocked 5 feet backwards after every snap. No idea how we fixed that but he is holding his own and not getting driven back into the back field. That allows our pulling guards to pull close to the LOS. I have a GA in my class and after the first few games I asked him why we continue to pull Justin Bell when he can never get to his guy. He said the only we can run the ball effectively is by pulling guards and the only way they get better at pulling is by game reps.

So all in all our OL is better than it was at the start of the season because Ben Still is holding his own, Justin Bell has improved drastically at pulling, Rod Taylor is an AA in the making, and Fahn Cooper is slowly getting better.

We can pass protect well enough to be a championship team and we are now running it just ok enough that it isnt a problem.

That too. So yes it's a lot better than I envisioned through 6.

Cooper has played three straight good games. After the Boise game I thought we were fricked

I did too . Those 4 games to start the season could not have been scheduled better. We needed every one of them.

Yeah, the entire offensive line goes as the C goes normally. If you get penetration against the C it causes problems for everyone, especially in the running game.

Judd and Wilkins are our two biggest backs iirc.

Wilkins has shown some promise. I think Judd is redshirting.

We just RS' a 225lb back. I mean look at Ashton Shumpert. He's not fast enough to be a SEC back. That's why we liked him at LB. RB's that are 220 or more in HS are tough in our system. If there is a sure fire home run kid like the kid from Alabama last year than sure, but otherwise the Wilkins/Dodson back with a Walton/Brazely sprinkled in is best for our offense. Our problem in short yardage is more on our interior OL than our RB's
