in most games Bama plays in excess of 50 and close to 60. The past 2 games have seen less than 50 and a lot of those listed on the participation chart played on ST. Has Bama been relegated to not having enough quality depth or are too many being RS or are we having too many health issues. This does not bode well for having experienced players stepping in next year

Well a lot of the time we blow people out and guys get to play in garbage time.

We play a lot of bodies on the DL/OLB, we play 2 RBs, 3 TEs, 5 WRs.

When I think about experience players for next year, I immediately look at the contributors up front on D and who can be back:

A'Shawn Robinson (5.5 sacks last year)
Jarran Reed (5 Pass Breakups through 6 games)
Jon Allen (5 star talent, leads team with 4 QB hurries)
Da'Shawn Hand (5 star talent, has played a bit this year)
DJ Pettway
Dalvin Tomlinson
Ryan Anderson (Has had a good season, 3rd on team in TFL, 2nd in sacks and QB hurries)
Denzel Devall
Rashaan Evans (will only play more and more)
Reggie Ragland (arguably outplayed DePriest this year)

All are major contributors that play a LOT of football for us this year, and will continue to do so.

but our Oline is chit and you seem to have overlooked this important part of the game and our lack of quality depth. And unless I checked we have to play offense too

You don't rotate offensive linemen though. Usually only 5 play with the first team, you don't give them breathers like you do with the DL.

Next year we bring back:

LT: Cameron Robinson
Center: Ryan Kelly
RG: Alphonse Taylor*
Guard or RT: Dominick Jackson**

*- Taylor has played almost as much as Leon Brown

**- Dominick Jackson will probably start eventually

So the OL will be experienced, plus Grant Hill could have a starting job and he is experienced from last year as well.

DOM J. cant beat out the two who are our weakest links right now. So I don't share your optimism one bit.

Saban has said before that Dom is "probably one of our best 5 guys". He got injured in camp and didn't enroll early, so you can't expect him to come in and take a job. He has to learn the blocking schemes, and who knows if that injury is still bothering him? But Saban seems to think he is definitely one of the top 5 OL.
