Some of you guys are sounding pretty intelligent suggesting we finish the season playing a lot of reserves. I'm all for it. Pick the ones who WILL tackle [not the ones who "can"] and let them play.

Some of you other guys are going so far as to calling the plays. I'll jump in here myself. Don't throw another pass the remainder of the season. Not on 3rd and long. Not on 4th and inches. Run the ball every play from now to the gun on Thanksgiving. Find out who can tackle and find out who will play.

If the team quits at Auburn, then turn up the heat, but until then I will wait and see.

I expect them to show up ready to fight for 60 minutes.

I'll go out on a limb here and set myself up the fool. Because just about any time you hear someone say, "I'm pretty good at [fill-in-the-blank]" then you find yourself sharing company with someone who sucks arse at fill-in-the-blank. But I'll go ahead and say it: I'm pretty good at reading the body language of football players during games. I'm better at it when in the stadium (for obvious reasons), but I can glean enough from what's availed via TV, also. At least I think I am, in either regard.

Here's what has happened this year, as difficult as it is to comprehend, let alone to swallow: We got the "win" vs. Arkansas, but they ended our season. Someone forgot to remind our players that this is a man's game whereby you're going to get smashed in the mouth. They limped out of Jerry World, looked at the schedule, and woke up Sunday morning hurting four times worse than necessary. When Mississippi State came out playing big boy ball they gave in like French-Italians. Got girls, wine, and food back home. Why stay in these trenches another minute?

You think they'll turn it around for Auburn. I hope so. God, I hope so. But I saw them quit in the first quarter against State and, with the exception of a few players, I haven't seen them try since. They didn't quit against Alabama. They'd quit 2 full games before. I knew what was coming in Bama as surely as I know that I'm tired of typing.

Someone forgot to remind them that it's a man's game and that you're going to get smashed in the mouth.

I think you nailed it. I'm hoping Kevin Damn Sumlin can get some toughness knocked into their heads with 2 weeks to work with them.

Hopefully they get some sort of team unity back with a bye week and ULM before SEC play resumes, but I don't have much faith based on the showing last week.
