Losing like this is the the most difficult for me. Yes, I am melting.

I can stomach the blow out and the nailbiter/last second losses ok.
The combination of poor execution by a team I know is better than this, the poor officiating, and the, at times, questionable play calling just grind my gears.
Most of all - it was the poor execution. Am I just way off base here? Are we just not that good? I really believe we are good enough to win that game.
Some of you are calling for JJ and Roc to take over or claiming that the officiating was the biggest factor in our losing - please don't bother responding b/c that is absurd. To the level headed people in here - help me make sense of this b/c I am melting.

I think if JJ and Roc play, and Tom Ritter's crew isn't there then we win this game.

We were good enough to win. Didn't execute properly and had some breaks go against us.

Play calling was garbage in the red zone. Officiating was lopsided.

Play calling was questionable at times. I felt there were times Marshall should have kept rather than hand off and vice versa, but that may have been a case of handoffs being called. Marshall's passing actually got a bit worse later in the game. Not sure why. However, he was solid overall, and although I like JJ, I still like Marshall for now. The biggest issues were simply at the LOS. MSU got away with holding a whole freaking lot. Other stuff.

Well giving them 2 turnovers to 14 pts before 5 min in the 1st doesn't help
We didn't execute but play calling was shite. State was the better team

And he managed 7 yards a carry compared to Payne's 4ish, which kinda points to Diddy being right on that part.
Not that Roc getting 20 carries would have won the game, but every little bit helps. We mainly lost because of turnovers, with an assist from poor red zone play calling and two terrible pass INT calls.
But at this point of the season it's quite obvious our o-line is not where it needs to be up the middle, and we are going to live and die by our passing game opening up the running game.
Marshall is having a rough time with reads this year though it seems, and looks just a step slower this year.

We play this game on a neutral field and we win 19 times out of 20.
They get to unfairly amplify their noise and rattle us. It's never mattered before, but it did today. Tough.
If MSU loses from here on out we have a chance to overtake them. We lost to a good team today that we could have beaten. Turnovers suck. That's it.

Ehhh, our guys fricked themselves every way possible. I was pissed watching them do it during the game, but our guys didn't deserve to win that game with the way they played. I hate it, but no melting on my end.

Biggest issue with this team is an inability to push the line of scrimmage forward. I know some think JJ is going to sit back there and go all Peyton Manning on everybody, but my guess is this same line would have pass protection issues.
