People pay real money to watch them both do something that is basically entertainment.
Taylor charges for tickets and sells songs, pictures, clothing, posters, etc and she makes tons of money.
How many #3 UGA jerseys were ever sold prior to TG's arrival on campus in Athens?
One way to realistically determine star value is to see if jersey number sales bump for a player during their career. If they do, the player should get a royalty. It could cap at $1000/month prior to graduation, then the rest of the money could be available after eligibility is over and a degree is obtained.
It really is silly that NCAA makes an insane amount of money on jersey sales like #2 AU, #3 UGA, #15 UF, #2 aTm, etc and the players who are the product get nada.
I would exclude #1 for all teams bc I think that number sells a bunch regardless of player- sorry Duke and Montravious.

Oddest vs. I've ever seen

Gurley has better straight line speed. Taylor has pretty good lateral movement. I think Gurley has more NFL potential.

Despite the bullshite that every topic on this board seems to attract, this is actually one of the most viable options I've seen presented.

I have never heard a revenge song on the radio by Todd Gurley to his ex-lovers...so Gurley wins.

Gurley would never do that for money.
Gurley wins despite ruining the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

What about players who share jersey numbers
Say that there is #2 Johnny Manziel and then a #2 backup punter who never saw the field.
Who gets the money?

How much does a college degree from UGA cost? What are the tuition/room & board costs monthly?
Also, name the last time a NFL GM drafted a FB player during draft day, from review of that player's high school film. You can't. Why? Because they don't do it - they review the player's college film when they review that player for the draft.
A college player doesn't just play FB for a free college education. The crappy players do, but not a player like Gurley. The top college players also do it for the quality coaching and development. They do it for the prime-time national television exposure, that thing that pays those universities and the NCAA so much money. A player like Gurley needed every bit of that to place himself in a position to earn a high round draft pick on NFL draft day, whenever he chose to come out for the draft. And earning that high round pick ensures him of getting a multi-million dollar contract. Not anything he did when he was in high school.
Now, those lesser players that aren't good enough to garner consideration at the professional level, they only have the free college degree to fall back on. But they probably weren't the reason that CBS wanted to show their team on Saturday at 3:30 anyways...
