This catastrophe has long term effects. 80 percent of the population begins to starve within 2 weeks. Most of that segment of the population has died within 2 months.

The government isn't coming to offer assistance.

You're on your own along with roving bands of about 10 - 20 percent of the remaining population.

What do you do?

Head to the Bass Pro Shop down the road and stock up on jerky, ammo, and fishing equipment.

What if the catastrophe takes place while you are low on fuel? Do you plan to rob gas from stations that will have already been pillaged, or do you plan to steal gas from cars in the middle of the night?

Both choices could get you killed.

Do you plan to simply walk in that store without any resistance? What about the other thousand people who head to Bass Pro to clean out the store?

ummm.... no. we walk.

in the scenario that you describe i would obviously have to be be more violent for the sake of my family, but not stoop to violate my morals and steal or murder. who we are and what we believe should not disappear with civilization.

Off to the cabin in the Appalachians, like always. I have plenty of guns and ammo at my house, so I load those up, get the wife and dogs in the car, and I'm off. Diesel engine in her car gets +/- 550 to the tank, so we'll make it there just fine.

Cabin has a well, fertile hunting grounds, and fishing streams in close proximity. Definitely enough room for a large vegetable garden. It gives a commanding view of the surrounding area but remains fairly concealed in the woods.

For those of you whose plan is to venture out after the catastrophe to gather supplies, you are too late.

Your morals would quickly disappear if your family was threatened. What if your wife or children were threatened with execution?

Would you murder your foe then?

A friend and I have talked and are working on prepping. It's best to be prepared.

So, you'll quit your job if Ebola spreads beyond Texas?

Totally. The government will support me if my fears are unfounded.
