I have to admit that I'm pretty nervous about the game this weekend. An away game is a big deal in the SEC and in the past few years MSU has always seemed to play us pretty close. It doesn't help that both Auburn is up at 2 and MSU is at 3 at the moment.

I'm curious to see how each team handles all the mental stress. Thinking about how out of whack the West division is right now, the prospects of playing probably one of, if not the, biggest game of the year. That stuff can really mess with your mind. I know I'm psyched right now. I want to say Auburn should be ok I mean they've been there before and have handled the lights, but to just come out of no where, be recognized on a national stage, have all that pressure on you and just finally be relevant.

That's got to be an emotional roller coaster of a high. It's going to tell a lot about Mullen. Getting to feel the same emotions his team is feeling now with relevancy and people actually noticing you. I think it'll be a real testament to his team if they somehow manage to pull out the upset.

Thoughts?

I think this is the worst possible time that any team in the country could play MSU. I'm not sure anyone could beat them this Saturday in Starkville.

AU wins the mental pressure battle - they've been tested in that department.

You know, as stupid as Gus looks with his wad of bubble gum on the side line, he can rally the team and they always rise up to the occasion. Nick Marshall has played in hostile environments before. I do not think MSU will be an issue. There, I said it.

I think you're right, but of the SEC teams I've seen play thusfar, AU has the best overall team to give MSU a loss.

Good questions that will be answered. All we know now is that rant is full of MIss St. fans with nothing better to do than nothing...deeply unimpressed at this point.

Regarding your question, auburn wins easily due to the issues you outlined.

Dak seems to get better as the games get tougher and the stage gets bigger. This team follows his lead, I expect them to perform at their highest level.

Nick Marshall has ice water in his veins. He is exactly who I want leading this offense into this puppy dog doo doo nest.

That's my other thought as well. I mean Auburn seems to thrive in the 2nd half and even down to the wire. MSU, as we've seen so far, likes to for some reason drop the ball and let teams put points on the board. That seems the worst possible situation for MSU in this scenario. Is it because Mullen just can't handle the anxiety or emotional high of getting that win before it's really over and gets caught looking? If so how will he handle an entire week of that feeling?

State has never been ranked this high

Mullen has never beat a top ten team. He beat 2 this year

State has never hosted GameDay. Hosting it this weekend.

State has never had a Heisman candidate. Dak will win it this year

State hasn't beaten LSU in 20 years. Beat them this year in Death Valley

State only has one more monkey to get off our back this year. The CBS curse will die Saturday

First it was his stupid gimmicky offense

Then his stupid fist pumps after touchdowns

Then it was his stupid visor

Then his stupid outfits

Now....he looks stupid on the sideline chewing gum..

Damn...I love it!

The only way Dak wins the heisman over Gurley is if State wins the SEC. So good luck I guess.

Auburn has faced diversity, though. This is a team fresh of a super disappointing national championship loss. MSU doesn't know pressure like Auburn does. That's really one of the few distinct advantages on either side. Could certainly go either way and I'm nervous as hell.

Kansas State is a solid, fundamentally sound, and well-coached team. They would beat most SEC teams right now. Also, Arkansas ain't no fricking cupcake anymore. Not to mention, most of this team was here last year. They know adversity and they know how to finish.

That's why Evan is our spirit animal. He took on four chicks in the bus in Teachers 2.
