I'm going to Miami in a few weeks. Meetings in Kendall actually, though that may still be considered Miami idk.
At any rate I've never been and don't know where to stay. Looks like I'll be close to Coral Gables. Is that area generally safe and clean?...at least by Miami standards

You can hang out with the UM thugs in Coral Gables.

Stayed in Key Biscayne once and it was a nice area. It is an island that overlooks the skyline of downtown Miami. Private beaches, high end homes and MILFs... lots and lots of MILFs. Its probably a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Miami.

Kendall isn't bad at all. I'm assuming you'd be staying off 88th somewhere? Miami on the overall is very overrated crime perception wise. There are still plenty of places to avoid though... like the plague.
TiM will be way more useful than I with this.

I see a customer in Kendall every couple of months. I usually stay at the embassy suites by the airport it's no too far and they have a full breakfast and beer and wine at happy hour. Full bar and a restaraunt. Doral area isn't bad either.

As close to the hood as you can comfortably manage.

Stay the frick out of Coral Gables. UM is very close to the hood.
If you are not in the south beach kind of opportunity, you might actually want to stay further north toward lauderdale.
Also be careful in Miami because one wrong turn and you are lost, then NOBODY speaks English. They have a lot of directional street names and the GPS can get confused because of a lot of road construction.
