I figured the national media will need to get familiar with us. Tweet a pic of your cowbell and tell a story.
LINK

My bully bell was my first at age 7. It helped take down Arkansas in 98 to take us to the SEC West Championship and has made it all the way to see us ranked #3 in the nation. I actually lost it during my college years (croom years so probably for the best), and recovered it just in time for the 2009 season.

Needs a new ringer, I lost it when we last beat Bama. This is a real damn cowbell, forged in the furnaces of the Grind Fortress. I actually can't remember where I got it from but my mom has been a junker all my life so she probably found it at an estate sale somewhere.

Gonna get a new ringer made, but don't really know who to go to. The old ringer was basically solid brass with the same sort of tarnish the bell has. Can anyone recommend a solution? a metal shop would be good?

That is amazing. How do you handle that thing?

Also -- tweet that badboy out. Let's get this thing going.

Lost the CLAPPER from mine during the LSU Game in 1982; was worth it as we WON in the 1st Night Game at Scott Field.

I hold it upright aka downward and rock it back and forth holding it with my fingers by the loop at the top. Or you can hold it at the side and rock it for a more muted sound. It has.. had a nice booming sound. In the mean time I've made a temporary "clapper" with some stainless steel nut and bolts but it doesn't stay good, comes undone, certainly doesn't sound as good as it did.

That worn out tape is proof that it takes a toll on the knuckles. A buddy of mine was talking about fashioning a heavy duty handle with a bicycle grip on to it.

I will tweet it out.

Find a leather-smith to make a "belt" through the loop. Saddle leather should be stiff enough to give you a 'handle' to ring it properly...Please don't cut that bell, it looks awesome as-is. For clapper replacement, I used a couple of these chain repair links, and they work fine.
