Figured we could have a thread to just discuss everything about this next weeks game.
I think its safe to say that we are in a position that not many of us have been in before being Ole Miss fans. As in right in the drivers seat of Atl/Playoffs. But we still have a long way to go and the next stop is College Station.
Whats everyones thoughts on the game?
Ive watched them twice this year. Against what we have learned is a pretty bad USCe team and then watched them get pretty lucky and click to rally back and take out an improved Arky team.
From what i have heard it sounded like State's front 7 wore A&M out and Hill couldnt handle it. If game goes the same way i feel good about our Defense and how they match up with their offense.
Another thing i am not worried about is a hangover game. This team wants payback for past 2 seasons and Freeze will have them ready.
Thoughts?

It would be understandable if we came out flat. Teams post up and down on tRant that "____ is ____'s Super Bowl." Our QB was carried off the field, goal posts carried throughout town and our coach cried in his postgame interview. Yeah, that was our Super Bowl.
Once we get back on our feet we should be ok. We need to take away the first read from Hill and get after him in the pocket. If he can stay on track, he will bleed us out. If we take away option 1 every time, we can almost eliminate him.
Our offense should be fine and will finally establish a running game. I think we go down in the first then come back to win by a score of 31-17 or so.

As always, it will depend on who shows up: Good Kenny or Bad Kenny?

Regardless of what shite you see me spew on the rant, I am nervous about this game. I am confident that we match up decently well, and should beat them fairly easy if they continue to play as they have all year. The hangover game does not bother me in the slightest, and I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't the game the kids have had circled for the past year more so than Bama.
What makes me nervous is Aggie's ability to put points on the board very quickly and very easily when their offense is clicking. Lets not kid ourselves, State didn't Just pound a bad team. Aggie completely shot themselves in the foot making then look worse than they truly are. They dropped something absurd like 9 in the hands, drive killing passes.
If they play like shite, we drill them. If they play great, we either win or lose in a very close one. If we're up by anything less than 27 with 5 minutes left in the 4th, I'll be squirming in my barstool (assuming I haven't been kicked out yet).

I'm gonna sound like a homer here but I keep hearing how States front 7 dominated their offensive line. I thought they played well but the defense as a whole still gave up over 500 yards (300ish passing and 160ish rushing). I really thought a&m's biggest problem was
1. Turnovers
2. Their receivers couldn't catch anything that hit them in the hands.
3. Most importantly: Defense
Kenny Hill hasn't looked good since the USC game and I think we realize now a lot of that was fools gold. He looked bad agains Arkansas and he looked really bad against state. A lot of that was indeed state's defense but I think more of it was inaccuracy and his receivers.
I think we are going to be fine as long as we avoid the big hangover.

All I know is if we win this game I will lose my shite.

The homefield advantage with their weird, cult-like, hivemind of a fanbase will be very difficult to get around. Our D is gonna need to shut them down and we need to score early and take the crowd out of it.

Isaac Gross dominates their offensive line and single handidly wins us this game.

This should be fun.
Aggies do love a good D in the face.

Glad you're finally coming around.
This is similar to our game against Texas last season. They got exposed against a similar team the week before (BYU) on the road. BYU had a better running QB than us, so people assumed even though our offense also ran the zone read that we wouldn't be able to do what they did.
Wrong. We did.
State is a run-first team, so they liked up egregious rushing yards against this shitty run defense. We won't post those kinds of rushing stats, but that's because we're a passing offense. The thing is, our passing game will be that much more effective because we will be able to move the rock on the ground.
If we can avoid coming out flat and uninspired, we will win this game.
2 TDs.

I think our game plans for Sumlin have been really good. We just haven't been able to account for Manziel's improvisation. He rushed for 300 yards in those 2 games combined. However, TAMU has only thrown for 1 TD against us in 2 games, and I think it's safe to say our secondary is improved.

Getting to Kenny Hill and making him get rid of the ball quickly is what we had success with. It kept him out of his rhythm and we took advantage of their mistakes. I think yall can beat them if Good Bo shows up, but they will put up points at home.

If we can run the ball, we can beat any team in the country. We have been scoring a lot of points w/ a mediocre at best run game. Once that opens up, our passing will explode.

I've watched three A&M games this year and I think we match up really well with A&M. Arkansas and State exposed Kenny Hill with pressure. In both games A&M had issue with drop passes. I think they still have a good offense but if you can stop the big plays and force them to put a long drive together it seems like they will shoot themselves in the foot. The one thing a worry about is their size at receiver. They have the same defense as last year but now they have a stud DE in Myles Garrett. I think this game comes down to Ole Miss more than it does A&M.

So I just read some of Chase Parham's thoughts after the game on Saturday.
He said he sat and talked with Robert and a few different players for a while afterwards and they erased any fears he had of a let down against TAMU. He said that while the fans might have reacted like we won our Super Bowl, the players did not. They were emotional, but already talking about getting back to work. He came away feeling like the bounce back wouldn't be tough.
I hope he's right. I think he's right. Robert, Laquon and Laremy - some of our biggest leaders - aren't satisfied. I saw their interviews after the game. They're still hungry. They just have to make sure they keep the rest of the team focused.
Bo claimed he spent his time immediately after the game with his family, but I'm sure he partied. I don't blame him. I do think he's matured a lot this season. I've seen a lot of analysts comparing him to Stephen Garcia amongst the QBs that have beaten Bama recently. They're implying his performance was an anomaly. I disagree. He doesn't have near the partying issues that Garcia had. He's no Snead. He's locked in this season.
I'm comfortable, for now, about next weekend. I anxiously await practice reports.

He told SVP & Russillo that he went out and partied on the square.

This was on Sportscenter and he wS just talking immediately after the game. He didn't go to the Grove, but went and hung out with his family.
Like I said, I figured after that he went to the Square.
He fricking earned it.

But also in reference to the game Bo played, I've seen so many people say it was his best game ever. I disagree.
He played amazing, but LSU the last two years (despite the picks in 2012) were better, IMO.
This was one of his cleanest and most accurate games, though. The 3rd down throw to Pack and that touch pass to Walton for the last TD were fricking sexy.

LSU 2013 was the most complete game I've ever seen from Bo but the last quarter and a half Saturday was the best I've ever seen him perform.

I honestly think with as good as your secondary is you guys can load the box to frick with Kenny's head and stop the run.
I see Ole Miss winning this game easily even if Bo can play halfway decent.
