Yesterday before the game, I was pumped to see what kind of team we would turn into this year. I wanted to see what Kiffin had dialed up for the Rebs D. I wanted to see our Dbacks come into their own. I was genuinely excited for the first time since 2012. Then Drake got injured and deflated my excitement. The rest of the game I just couldn't really get back into it. I kept thinking back to the horror of that injury. Today, that 10s clip is etched in my brain. Am I the only one that felt/feels this way?

Drake is my favorite player so I definitely have been bummed since it happened. A lot of the players were too

I could definitely see that it effected the players too. The game became less important. Hopefully, the team rallies around Drake and finishes strong.

I felt the same way when he got hurt. I was pumped all week for this game. When he got hurt, I just didn't care about the game at all anymore. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

That injury seemed to rattle us bigtime.

I'm not going to call Ole Miss dirty, but since Freeze has been there we have come out of that game with some injuries.

Drake's injury was horrible, but the injury that killed Bama was to Kelly. Bama had a 14-3 lead and running the ball at will to start the 3rd quarter. Kelly goes down, Bama stops running the ball.

Dont post this on the SECr, I agree, but the rest of the world who just cares about beating Alabama doesn't. They'll just put a little shitty "feel bad for this kid tho" at the end

We tried to run, but we were getting stuffed. We should have opened up our pass attack right there to keep them unbalanced.

Penalties and missed blocks hurt us late.

Watching the game play out up until and then after the Drake injurry... I think the game plan was heavy on the use of Drake. Use Coop to pull multiple players and fill behind him with Drake in motion or out of the backfield. With the injury the game plan bottomed out and they went more conservative.

Purely a guess on my part but I am curious what others here think.

I also think the game plan was for this to be OJ's coming out party. Unfortunately that didn't work out too well with his drops and penalties.

Stahp. The turf is a big cause. Ole Miss is physical, but nothing dirty went on to cause the injuries.

I don't understand this. I saw the replays and something needs to done about guys rolling intentionally into the guy with the ball who is already engaged with another player. The guy who caused his injurey rolled intentionally into him. You don't do that unless you are trying to take him out.

Not sure about "intentionally rolling into him." I didn't see that. With the rules on targeting, players tend to tackle lower now and it causes knee/leg injuries.

I think Drake getting hurt really messed up the game plan too. He is a mismatch nightmare coming out the back field and going into motion out wide. We definitely struggled in the passing game for a few reasons, and I believe this was one.

my brother was going off about this exact thing earlier today. to avoid targeting, they're intentionally going at knees and ankles

Am I the only one Who noticed or feels like #7 for Ole Miss stomped Drake while he was on the ground immediately after the injury? I don't feel like #12 did anything wrong, looked like he just went low. But the other kid clearly stomped him!! AND NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT!!

He didn't just go low, go back and watch the replay from the other side. he rolled his entire body threw his legs. There is a difference in going low then rolling your entire body into a players legs to trap him low while the other guy tackles high. He wasn't going head or should first but rolling his body. He knew the other guys were going to go high. In essences they setup a chop block on him.
