We've gone from a program that expects to win the second half to a program that just finds a way to lose in big games. During the 4th Quarter, we just seemed like a team that was expecting bad things to happen.

IMO, we've lost the intimidation factor. Teams are now anticipating playing us instead of dreading it. They see that the champ can bleed and they want a program making moment of their own. Not sure if the Kick Six is what started this, but it's a trend now whether we like it or not.

Calm down man.

Our starting QB just played his first true road game.

We lost a huge playmaker on offense and our starting Center.

We get Eddie Jackson back next week.

We still control our destiny. We'll be fine.

Meh, this team is young at many key positions. We have a whole season left to play and we still have a really good chance at getting into the playoff. We played a bad game, OM had a killer second half. shite happens. It has happened the past 4 years(counting this one.) and we've won 2 NCs in those years. I wouldn't pull the trigger just yet.

What happened to that "reset" we heard about all Summer? Reset to what, 2010?

We kept being told how the mentality of this team was different...but in the end, it's no different than last year and is probably the sloppiest team Saban has had.

Bama has only lost 5 games in the past 4 seasons and won 2 NCs with still a chance to win one this year. Bama will not win every game every year, no team/program can do that no matter how well they recruit. College has turnover of players every year, sometimes with that cycle there will be years that key areas are inexperienced and cost games. That cycle sometimes last a few years depending on the make up of the teams players. Plus, with the high quality players Bama is getting they tend to leave early resulting in a younger team.

What I think we will see in the future are mini runs. These will be when we're experienced in all the major areas for a few years then we will hit a cycle where we have to rebuild a little.

Another major factor is the teams we have to a every year have very good players and coaches as well, they won't be as consistently as good but when the stars align and they have experienced teams they will be tough teams to beat, especially on the road.

No need to quit on the year or fear that Bama is in a lasting decline.

I don't think expectations are the problem. We are going to lose games. I think the issue is with how these losses are coming. We seem to have a pattern of playing poorly in close games. For the past year or so the team plays consistently tight. Guys don't seem to be having fun, and we have 0 swagger. It's not like that's even paying off in terms of not making mistakes. This year in particular is the sloppiest we've looked in years. Florida wasn't really any better in terms of not making mistakes. They just sucked too much to take advantage of all the penalties and turnovers.

so how should losses "come"? Losses happen. They arent fun no matter how you slice it. Losses do not happen often for Alabama football. but THEY DO HAPPEN. The season isnt over, and we will win many more games this season.

The biggest problem is that we continually lose because of special teams. I don't understand why Saban decided to kick after Griff missed. That set up OM for better field position than a deep JK Scott punt. It's the same thing that lost 9-6 and the Auburn game last year. Why can't we just punt the ball and pin them back?

In the words of the late Dick Howser, "Something is wrong. I don't give a shite, something is wrong."

Lotta folks living in denial right now.

Just win moving forward. Do any of you think Florida fans care that they lost to Ole Miss in 2008? At home?

Hell no. They picked themselves up and ran the table winning the title.

We have that chance. Again, let's see how they respond next week and the remainder of the month before we write this team off.

They shouldn't come from playing scared/choking away games. It just feels like we are missing a spark.

Of course it did, but you can say that about every game. No game is entirely any one position's fault. You can't deny, however, that special teams have led to more Alabama losses in the CNS era than anything else. Does he not see that Griff can't hit the ocean if he were kicking a ball from the beach? Did he not remember how the long field goals in Auburn cost us?

And we've seen griff screw up in Auburn, A-Day, UF, OM. Why would you depend on him when you can pin the offense back?

This, getting beat, not finishing, blowing opportunities, turnovers, look at the last three losses, and the last few wins.

If that's acceptable, then get used to 3-4 loss seasons. 10 wins is a good season for most programs, lets just settle for that and be happy. Can't win them all.

So if the losses came from just getting straight beat down, would that make yall feel better?

I just think its stupid to say "the loss is bad because blah blah"

shite, we played awful against a good team in a crazy environment, and still had a great chance to win at the end. A loss is a loss, and IF we are going to lose, then shite, I'd rather lose like that than the latter.

Can't win em all, folks. Time to look forward to the next game.

i think its good that we lost to a good team early in the season. its losing the iron bowl or seccg that kills us.

we can certainly win out, but we do need the rebs to lose a couple games to avoid the dreaded tie breaker scenario. hell, if we win out and dont go to the seccg we probably still go to the 4man.

my biggest disappointment yesterday was oj. he played like crap. got penalties, dropped passes and let a 5'9 cb beat him for a game winner in the end zone.

wanna get better on the year? id start with oj howard.
