Is there a way to alter this slightly so it looks more like a bulldog?
GrindoToad would be awesome and I do not have the skills.

Enough that you still realize it is Hypnotoad but maybe some Bulldog graphic elements that it becomes Grind worthy.
If there is a Bulldog in a similar body pose, maybe all you need is to transfer the Hypnotoad eyes. I can come up with ideas but I have no actual creative skills to implement them.
