Could there be 3 SEC teams in the College Football Playoff?

If UCLA and Stanford lose it would be hard to see a PAC-12 team getting in the playoff and as of now there is no BIG 10 team that looks close to playoff potential. The ACC has one potential team left in Florida State, and the Big 12 could get one in with either Baylor or OU. Notre Dame and BYU would probably need to lose, but those are both strong possibilities. Is there a chance that 2 SEC West teams, and one SEC East team get in the playoff? Or is there even the potential for three SEC West teams if let's say Auburn, A&M, and Bama (you can fill in MSU or Ole Miss here as well) all end the season with one loss? What says the rant?

I like the idea, but there's no way the committee will allow it.

I don't know if 3 could happen. Right now it looks like they'd all need to be West teams, and at least one of the three would have to have at least 2 losses.
An unbeaten/1 loss SEC Champ and 1 loss SECW Runner Up can get in.
But then the Big XII Champ, B1G Champ, ACC Champ, and Pac Champs are vying to get in.
Any unbeaten teams among that group get in, and any 1 loss teams among that group likely get in over a 2 loss 3rd SEC team. A few of those team would need 3 losses for it to happen, and even then the committee wouldn't do the right thing.

No doubt these SEC teams would be the best teams this year, but the committee can't make too strong of an SEC impression the very first year. 2 maybe, 3 no way

Every team in the country is going to have to have 2 losses for 2 sec schools to get in while for 3 would have to be 3 losses for every school other than teams in the SEC.

I sure as hell would be pissed if A&M won the SEC and two more teams got in. Even 1 team would be tough, especially if we had already beat them. Just a tough spot to be in.

2 seems veryyyyy likely at this point.

Not a chance, for the first year there will be teams from all 4 conferences whether there should be or not.

Do you even know how conference schedules work in the SEC? Every teAm plays each other in a division......

If the elite teams of the other top conferences keep losing, the SEC's conference schedule is going to be equivalent to the NFL's regular season.

Yes. A&M beats Bama, Bama beats Auburn, Auburn beats A&M. Those 3 teams don't lose any other games. I don't see what is wrong with that.

Not a chance in hell, it's still unlikely that it will get 2.

Not three, not two...one. Just one. Prepare yourself for this.

Nope. There'd have to be a 2-loss PAC 12 champ, a 2-loss Big XII champ, a 2-loss Michigan State, and the SEC champ would have to be an undefeated West team with another 1-loss SEC West team...to even have a chance of getting 2 SEC teams in. Three ain't happening.

I agree with those that feel the committee will probably try as best to have 4 teams from 4 different conferences, particularly this being the first year.
Being in a strong conference definitely may be a big disadvantage.

Let's be honest here.. if three SEC teams make it to the playoff, not one of them will be from the East.

I know this is laughable and won't happen, but if Florida or GAg win out they would be in.
(cue in dumb and dumber so you are saying there is a chance).

If a three loss Florida or Georgia beats a one loss SEC West team in the SECC, this "playoff" will fall apart in its very first year.
