If we beat Ole Miss and AU beats LSU by double digits, may very well be 1-2

Obviously FSU and OU could be in the way of that, but it is possible that we get to 1 and Aubie gets to 2 sooner rather than later. Then the hype train to the Iron Bowl would begin.
If it remains that way until the game, both teams may make the playoffs with the way things are shaping up...
I'm sure the committee would rain on the parade and make them play in the Semis, but could you imagine how epic an Iron Bowl for the title would be?
I mean, the state would destroy itself, but the hype would never stop.

Unless FSU loses between now and November, they won't drop lower than two. Hell, I doubt we jump them in the AP Poll this week, even with a win.

If we win without looking too sloppy we will jump FSU, especially if our defense looks good and theirs still looks vulnerable.

I think FSU should stay #1 until they lose, but damn they sure have looked shitty this year.

I think we'd jump them to #1 in the AP too. We aren't all that far behind as it is, and I think a lot of the Oregon voters would jump on us since most have already jumped ship on FSU.

If we do somehow wind up ranked #1 in the AP poll we will tie Miami for consecutive seasons with at least 1 week at #1 with 7 straight seasons.

That's the way I felt about our team last year...we won them all until the IB but we looked really crappy, especially on offense.
This year has been so much more enjoyable, at least it has been for me. Blake has delivered the goods, Amari has been fantastic, and our O-line and RBs seem to have played better. Wish we could get OJ more involved but I guess you can't have everything.

If FSU and Bama win out and finish 1-2, the hypothesis I've always had about the new playoff will be put to the test.

Y'all start saving your money now, trips to Atlanta, a Semi Final, and a Title Game don't come cheap when you go as often as we will under Saban.

I agree. They should just let the two highest seeds have home field. It makes more sense from a logistical stand point. At least then you know tickets sales will not be an issue.
