Home-Home-Arrowhead

I vote no.

Especially the Arrowhead part. How dumb. God. So stupid.

(Rumor online about this being in the works).

I wouldn't mind it. Basically two home games for us.

If this fills the fricked up scheduling problems, I'm ok with it.

We are kind of at the mercy of the schedule at this point.

I'd prefer a home and home with San Diego St.

That way I could actually go to a fricking Mizzou game.

Anything MIZZOU can do to show presence in the KC area is a good thing, still losing too many good athletes to other conferences. Kstate, KU, Nubs, and the rest should be taking the scraps.

Call me dumb, but I really don't see what playing one game in KC does for recruits.

If they want to come to Mizzou they will come.

It's like an hour in a half away, Mizzou games are always on their tv, I just don't buy this as a real selling point.

I really don't get the contradiction between pumping money and resources into these college campuses and then removing one of your only handful of days to showcase it.

BYU in Arrowhead would be very meh.

On par with Indiana in the Ed.

Having worked for a Mormon business, I know the loyalty of their fan base. Arrowhead will sell a lot of tickets to people who aren't season ticket holders.

BYU is apparently trying to beef up their schedule to compete with ND. They need to be counted as Power 5 equivalent like Notre Dame so they can go to better bowls and such. They play Michigan, UCLA, Nebraska, East carolina and Cincinnati next year. They would love to add Mizzou for a pretty strong schedule.

Since we are desperate for a date to the prom we have to take it. It may turn out for the better in the long run. They are definitely better than South Dakota State.

We need teams to fill in our schedule. BYU would be a welcome addition, especially over any FCS schools.

Sounds like I'm in the minority, but I really like the idea. BYU is a really solid program and this for me would be a game I would think about making the drive from STL for.

How is this stupid?

Scheduling Indiana, Purdue and UCONN is stupid.

BYU has some brand recognition at least.

This wasn't solely about scheduling BYU, which is unfortunately how you and your feeble minded brothers took my OP.

It's about the home-home aspect which puts us up in Utah, far away from SEC recruiting exposure. Would be nice to get a game with an ACC or Texas Big 12 school.

And the neutral site aspect was part 2 of my issue. We're renovating our stadium, making the campus as nice as ever, and then throw away a home game in KC. I'm only fine with that if it's vs ku or OU or NU.

Many big programs play neutral site games. It's about exposure. These games are big on the national stage, and BYU would be BY FAR the best OOC game we've had in some time. If rather play NU or OU as well but this is a very good step in the right direction.

Okay...

And most of these make some kind of sense -- like OU vs TX, FLA vs UGA ect.

A BYU-MIZZ game in KC isn't going to bring in the mega dollars that a Michigan-FLA game in Dallas will bring in for the universities, and it doesn't have the regional advantage that OU-TX and the like have, which is why I could really only support a game in KC if it's vs a regional rival.

Is BYU better than scheduling S Dakota State, sure, yeah, of course, like duh. But that's not what is being discussed in this chamber of deep thought.

It's better than Indiana and Purude and that IS what is being discussed.

Bama just played WVU at a neutral site. FSU played OK St. LSU played Wisconsin. The list goes on and on.

Those schools play neutral site games in places like GA and TX for recruiting purposes. That makes sense. Playing a neutral site game in KC does not gain much of anything except when used to encourage a local school to play us, like Illinois or maybe kU/NU down the road.

BYU and Texas played this year and nobody gave a damn. At least when we play Indiana we get recruits like Brandon Lee to fall in love with us and eventually sign. Utah does produce as many football players as Missouri so at least it is a wash unlike Kansas or Nebraska. Games in IN and IL though are better than Utah in the long run for recruiting purposes.
