Not really. I mean the buildup is a little much, but the programs aren't really in similar positions.

Seem different.

Bama was road dog coming in with most people thinking they didn't have a chance against Stafford, Moreno, and company (my God that team was stacked).

Similar in that both home teams are hyping the shite out of this game.

UGA was on top of the world. Bama was rising from the ashes a lot more quickly than anybody realized.

I remember going into that game thinking that it was basically a forgone conclusion that UGA would win. I don't get that vibe from the OM folks.

The hype is what I'm getting at. I feel like it's gotten so big that OM isn't going to be able to live up to it.

One of the teams is hyping the shite out this game.

Edit: This feels a LOT like UA/UM in 2009...the last time Ole Miss was susposed to be legit.

Maybe that's where we differ, then, because I remember feeling somewhat uneasy about it beforehand and feeling like absolute shite after the first quarter.

I remember a few things about tailgating that morning: the roar after OM beat Florida, and people talking about how UGA was going to be #1 when they won. I would say the atmosphere was one of extreme confidence.

Still one of my favorite games. Might be the last game I can remember where going in I felt like Alabama is not supposed to win, which just gives you a whole different experience when they do win (particularly when they administer a beat down). Going in expecting to win and winning is a different kind of satisfaction, but nothing quite beats being the underdog and pulling off the upset.

I was in Athens tailgating with a brand new black UGA polo on (GF at the time's entire family went to UGA). That entire campus erupted when we stopped Tebow on 4th down. It was a great moment. Strangers were handing me drinks and giving me fives because they knew I was an Ole Miss student.

Nah...OM isn't a preseason pick for a NC.

I like OM but feel like Bo Wallace will be what stops them from being able to win. Close at the half...Bama runs away in the 2nd...a la Florida.

Was in the parking lots behind Warnell. The roar across campus was unlike anything I'd heard before or since. It was going to be the best of days until...

I will be shocked if Bama doesn't blow out OM.
I think it stays close for a quarter or two but Tide pulls away late.

My wife and I have dated and been married for a total of 7 years. I think that was the only time she legitimately gave thought to ditching my arse. My best friend and I didn't say a word to anyone for 24 hours. Expectations and overconfidence, man

Needless to say, I learned a little something about how to handle a loss after that game. I've never reacted anywhere close to that way since. It was a growing up moment for me

I had that moment after the 2012 SECCG. Was at a date function with my then gf. I was totally MIA while watching it upstairs, it happened, turned over a bottle of bourbon, popped some xanax, and I'm sure I was a total nightmare to deal with for the rest of the night. She was pretty fricking pissed.

I haven't done anything that bad since, but then again nothing like that game has happened since in terms of disappointment.
