By KO,they will have had a ton of distractions this week. I wonder how their players will handle all of the attention and the media circus going on in Oxford this week. It seems to be tough for coaches of a team not accustomed to this much emphasis being placed on a game to get their players to focus only on the opponent. Bama is used to this type of media spectacle so they seem to be in a more advantageous position in this matchup. Guess we will see. Since I don't care who wins, I just hope Bama doesn't blow them out due to the hype machine working against the Black Bears.

Maybe. Or maybe they'll be hyped and show up to play.

Yes. They will come out tight, fall behind, and never recover.

I really don't think playing in a big game is a distraction. More like motivation to play better. Dumb logic

I think the overreaction to how much this stuff matters is generally overrated.

I think it only really can effect a couple of positions, mainly QB and kickers, and maybe back end defenders, who in a state of excitement try to make bigger plays than they should.

Besides, we all know Bo Wallace doesn't need a big stage to make dumb decisions.

I think our defense will be too much for them. Watching the Memphis game right now, and their offense was just downright pitiful for most of the game. Oline was nonexistent at times. No running game. If they play like that against us, then it will be a long day for the Rebs.

Do you really think that?

UGA is not a good barometer because we can lose big games with the best of them but I cite 2008 as an example. We were sky high and everyone was buying the media hype. Players and fans for sure. Coaches probably tried to warn them all week but we remember how that turned out for UGA. I remember being at the game watching us warm up and all the players seemed to be more into the "event" itself than the opponent warming up on the other side. Our players were hamming it up to the crowd while Bama was on the other side looking like they were all business. And obviously....they were.

I don't know. Perhaps Freeze and his staff do a much better job of getting his players to tune that stuff out than Richt and his staff seem to do. That is the dynamic of this game I will be interested in seeing unfold.

Here's how it's gonna go, y'all:

Pregame:
We will shite our pants during the coin toss. Bama elects to go on D first.

Start of game:
Opening kickoff, we get stripped, Bama scoop and score.

7-0 Gumps

2nd Bama KO, we foolishly take the kickoff out of the endzone 7 yards deep at get jacked up at our own 8 yard line.

1st offensive snap, Bo drops the ball, loss of 4.

2nd offensive snap, Bo tries to force 10-yard curl, Treadwell gets lit up by Collins, ball floats in the air into the waiting arms of DJ Pettway, a former Ole Miss recruit.

Bama ball 1st and 10 @ the Ole Miss 14 yard line. Cam Robinson pancakes Nkemdiche, paving the road for a 14-yard TD.

14-0 Gumps.

Rest of Game:

Lane Kifftard calls more plays that put WRs 20 yards behind the defense, similar to the Florida game. Bad Bro Wallace throw 3 total picks, including 2 in the RZ.

Final score:

Bama 56, Old Piss/Myth 10

We are a year away from our O-line being able to really compete. I still think we have a good chance to win though. Vegas is begging people to bet on the Tide and the line hasn't moved that much.

Should be an interesting game. I'm watching it. This five game stretch is brutal for the Bears.

This could not be more of a WAOM game but I really don't see it turning out that way.

Here's the problem - and I'm an Ole Miss fan - I'm afraid Alabama is the better team. I give us about a 35-40% chance of winning. I think we can stop the run for a good bit of the game, but I'm afraid after getting up the middled to death, they are gonna hit us a couple of times over the top. I also don't think we're going to be able to run the ball when we need to run the ball. Desperately hope I'm wrong, but it looks pretty evident - but that's why we play the game.
We can't put all of our eggs in this basket. I think we match up MUCH better with the other teams in the West and there's still many wins to be had. Rome wasn't built in a day - and with a 9 or 10 win season, we could start competing year in and year out.
