Yeah a belated shout out to the Chiefs for making Brady look just awful.

Congrats to the KC'ers.

Can we let them celebrate by letting them sport their new sig pictures?

KC fans have to be rockin' massive hangovers after the Chiefs on MNF and the Royals last night.

What a ride, thumping Brady and a 12 inning thriller back to back!

I wasn't able to watch until top of the sixth....still saw half of the game. And best half at that! Royals with 7 different players stealing bases and some ace pitching. What a thriller.! Really great KC crowd, with no one leaving when things looked glum. And that young pitcher...wow....college World Series just six months ago.

Royals!

This city is rockin' right now. I'm speechless after last nights game. I've been beaten down for 29 long years now, and to win like that was so damn awesome. It actually brought tears to me eyes and man enough to admit it. The drought is over!

Thanks Kilo for your support in the game thread on the Sports board.

Hard to believe the Royals were once near the epicenter of baseball and were rivals with the New York Yankees themselves. Last night must be a little bit what it used to be like and hopefully a step towards restoring a bit of our long lost glory. They've got a ways to go still

Sorry to rain in the parade my friend, but I very publicly declined to join in on that bet from the beginning. That was TigerNick and a few other poor souls' undertaking

I remember those days very well and the rivalry with the damn Yanks. Back in those days, the Royals were the model franchise of how to build an organization and team. The Royals first made the playoffs in '76 (7 years after they were founded which was unheard of back then) and proceeded on their 10 year period of their glory days.

I'm glad the younger generations have a taste of what it's like to have a playoff potential team now. You're right, more work needs to be done, but Dayton has built a good support system that tailors to todays baseball needs. I hope he continues to succeed because you just got a whiff of how awesome it is to have a legit baseball team in mlb.

Royals win Game 1 against the Angels, sweeeet! Way to go Mooooooos.

This is for you KCMOTiger, a blast from the past. Sure you have seen it, I remember watching it live back then. Brett was an amazing player, and this shot helped us finally get over the hump against the Yanks in the playoffs.
