Or is the talent just more evenly distributed than in previous years with no clear dominant teams? I think the latter. Not talking compared to the east necessarily but more compared to the rest of the country. After seeing Bama lose to Oklahoma, auburn lose to FSU and LSU almost lose to Wisconsin I don't see the west or even the SEC as a whole being "stacked" at the moment. Sure, almost any west team could beat any other right now but i don't think ANY of them could hold a candle to the SEC champs from 2006-2012

At this point in the season, we don't really know.

You have average teams that dont realize they are average yet.

Happens frequently in the SEC West.

Then who in the frick would you consider "stacked"? The SEC is as close to stacked as you'll ever get, even if the top team from other conferences happens to win 1 or 2 NC in a decade.

It just seems like people had the thought process of "well the SEC champs have dominated the BCSNCG every year so now that there's no clear favorite, they must all be great". But i think they're just more evenly matched, with no team being particularly great. hence losing out of conference games

I think the east is about usual. The west is just that much better. It's like we all just ran off and left them in 2004.

5 of the 7 look better than last year. Auburn doesn't look as good as it did at the end of the season, but it looks better this year than it did after week 5 last year.

So maybe only one SECw team isn't as good as last year.

In what other conference does a team go winless in conference one year, only to make the NC the next? I think that's a good definition of stacked, not a singular OOC game.

The SEC champ that year lost to 2 unranked teams, one of them at home. One of the weakest SEC championship winning teams ever.

1993 Florida was 11-2
1994 Florida was 10-2-1
1997 Tennessee was 10-2
1999 Alabama was 10-3
2000 Florida was 10-3
2001 LSU was 10-3
2005 Georgia was 10-3

And these are all examples since 1992.

Serious question: Did you start watching SEC football within the last five years? You have a lot to learn.

The West is undefeated OOC, right? So that's a meaningful indicator.

Unworthy team, then. Unless Bear Bryant is pacing the sidelines at UK, no national champion in football should lose to them.
