SEC West: Ranking how much each fanbase likes their coach

1. Alabama - Nick Saban could pass The Bear if he wins a couple more titles, and he's doing it at a tougher time to win, given the rules and competition.
T2. Texas A&M - Sumlin has exceeded expectation so far. But in a few years, fans will demand some trophies . He recruits well, and he has brought confidence to the program. Any coach who is rumored to be a future NFL coach is going to be loved by fans.
T2. Auburn - Malzahn has already made a national championship game with this team, and he is given a lot of the credit for Chizik's title. No reason for fans not to love him.
4. Ole Miss - So far, Freeze has done so much better than Nutt. He had a big win last year against LSU, and the defense looks great. Fans are hopeful that he's special. Recruits very well for Ole Miss.
5. Arkansas - Bert has instilled his philosophy into Arkansas. There is hope where Johnelle previously destroyed it.
6. Mississippi St. - Mullen was on the hot seat, but his big win in Death Valley has fans believing again.
7. LSU - Miles drives the fan base crazy, and if it wasn't for a lucky 2-loss title, the successor to Nick Saban would be without a national title in his 10 years at LSU. Fans think he's stubborn, and they're probably right. But he isn't going anywhere without multiple bad seasons.

Sumlin is my favorite.
Freeze is a close second because he does things late in games to let us win.

He also hates punting.

it's inexplicable. He does that to us late and won't punt against Bama.

Before our loss to MSU, LSU was probably 6 and MSU 7.
Now, that list is about right. I don't believe I'd change a thing.

If aTm wins the SEC this year Sumlin's going pro.

Sumlin is a cool cat. I don't think he is going to be hanging around College Station that much longer. He's still young and I could see him coaching in the NFL someday very soon.

Saban
Malzahn
Sumlin
Freeze
Bert
Merlins
Miles
And that's not what I think of them as coaches, just how the fanbases look at them. Miles would be much higher.

Miles is without question dead last. I'd say Mullen is 6 due to some of the ridiculously stupid shite he says.

Sumlin is 50, probably older than a lot of people realize. He also walks like he's 80. He's got those former linebacker legs.

No argument, really. I can't move Sumlin to #1 as long as Saban is around. #1b maybe. All those hoping Sumlin moves on to the NFL aren't paying attention to how much he gets into recruiting, sez me. It ain't happening. I do know this: he's our guy.

Agreed. He LOVES to recruit. He always brings it up himself in interviews and press conferences.

Nick Saban could walk out to midfield at Bryant-Denny before a game, call Joe Namath a f@gg0t over the PA system and Bama fans would shrug and say they always suspected it.
He is every bit as big as Jesus there.

This made me laugh.

I'd like to see the Aggies play 8 or 9 ranked teams in one season as our 2007 and 2011 teams did.

Suppose Saban were to defecate on Bear Bryant's grave. Would the Gumps ask Saban to let them relocate the brown Betsy to another location, or would they leave it as an additional piece of Bama lore?

There are more atheists in Alabama than non-football fans.
