They sing it in the locker room after every game?

If our players can't recite The Creed and the chronological list of all the university president's from 1856 onward I don't fricking want them seeing the field.

Let us just say that rural upbringing, public school education and ebonics may figure into the musical interlude known as our fight song post game.
Frankly I do not expect Pavarotti.

At least our fight song is somewhat singable, and the words are simple and genric enough to fit virtually any sport.
As opposed to containing lines like, "Go teach the Bulldogs to behave / And send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave"...I mean, that doesn't even make sense.
And can you imagine a women's basketball team singing "Fight on, fight on, fight on, men / Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then"?
It was a point of pride when Wendy's or whoever it was did that commercial back in the 90s with famous football players singing their college fight songs that Bo sang "War Eagle" with gusto, and got (most of) the words right...as opposed to Jim McMahon acting like he couldn't remember where he went to school, much less their fight song...

Not trying to defend anything from Tuscaloosa, but how does their fight song not make sense?
quote:Mississippi State and UGA - although I think this refers more to Moo U than the Dawgs from Athens.
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave
quote:Tech was a member of the SEC until the 60s and were a big Bama rival. Crimson Tide = ocean = watery grave = Tide will roll over them.
And send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave
