I've always hated that mentality.
Just b/c one coach w/a certain focus didnt work out doesnt mean you should flat out ignore all coaches that do the same.

Its quite possible Sumlin would be just as bad as Hoke at Michigan. The elite size and speed Sumlin needs for his offense can't be found in mass numbers in the Midwest, especially not in the State of Michigan. Michigan is a dying program. There is really no special reason for an elite recruit from Florida or Texas, California, Georgia, etc to go to Michigan anymore.

Yeah Sumlin was born in Alabama and played in the B1G. Both of those facts are repulsive, but they don't matter. I don't give two fricks what his ties were to A&M before Slocum. They don't matter.

Sumlin and Hoke have the same number of championships and Hoke has actually been to more BCS bowl games

Agreed. Michigan has the money but they're up against changing demographics. They won't be truly elite again. Same for Ohio St.
