Because Mississippi has historically been the scapegoat for everything bad that happened in the South in the 1860s and 1960s.

Nothing bad happened in other states. Nothing.

"Nah, don't think so, especially the way they look down their noses at us," Pearson said. "They think they're a cut above us, and it's been that way for as long as I can remember. I don't really know why. I just know it sure feels good to beat them every year."

Full on lies. Chris Jones was never considering OM. He was all dawg all along. Even spied for State. No no, get this garbage out of here.

Not since 1958 have both teams been ranked this highly in the polls in the same season

Go on the board that shall not be named. They pretty much said they don't buy it and that Chris is lying

Also called Freeze a douche for his comments and leaving Ole Miss fans an autographed picture in their mailbox. Those guys are fricking insane.

The past is the present and the future. William Winter is the man.

Because blasting Mississippi (and the south) makes the rest of the country feel better about themselves. It's exactly the same as all the non-Mississippi asssholes on this board putting down Mississippi when all the frick that separates them from Mississippians is that they weren't born in Mississippi. The fact that there are larger cities and more tax dollars in the geographic locale in which someone is born clearly makes them a better person.
The country ridicules the south and the south ridicules Mississippi. That's why anything ever written or said about Mississippi, Ole Miss, or Mississippi State will always include historical references -- because it just feels so frickin' good.

I had someone from Chicago (where 80% of 8th graders can't read) school me on racism in Mississippi.

I asked him his thoughts on the Red Summer and he gave me a puzzled look.
