I think we need to give OM an early dose of Drake

OM's defense is quick and athletic, so I think we might see Drake get more carries early on in this game since he his lightning quick hitting the hole(twss), and really hard to tackle in space. He is also more physical than a lot of people think.

If he breaks off a few big runs early, then that will take a lot of pressure off our passing game/Oline and will allow Coop and co. to have another monster game.

Disagree. I'd rather us run Henry and Yeldon and wear them down. Plus their defense has a thing for turnovers and I would be holding my breath whenever Drake touched the ball.

Henry just takes a little long to get a full head of steam. I have a feeling that they are going to get to him before he can get that head of steam.

I think Yeldon will have a good game if he can get some blocking.

I would just like to see Drake get some carries early to put their defense on their heels.

If he fumbles once, yank him. I think its worth the risk.

Yeldon has played well against OM in the past. I think he will get the bulk of the carries.

Drake should be utilized in a way that creates matchup problems for OM. Their LBs are quick and athletic but not as quick or as athletic as Drake. I really like going with the 5 wide look with Drake out wide. I think we can give them a lot of trouble from that set, whether it be shifting to a more traditional formation or hitting Drake, Coop, or OJ for a big play. IMO, those three are our biggest big play threats and having them on the field all at once should give any DC fits.

Not trying to be argumentative, but Yeldon didnt really do anything against OM in 2012, and last year he had a good game, but Drake had a higher YPC, and they both had a TD each.

I agree with the rest of your post.

If I die before I wake, feed Drake.

I'm going to be saying a prayer everytime Drake touches the ball. He's probably our best back, but its obvious that he has problems holding on to the ball and OM will be targeting that everytime he is on the field.

ok, i must've been good and drunk that day. But last year he had a good game and I think had a couple highlight plays against them. I havent been impressed with Yeldon this season but I think he has the right skill set to take advantage of this OM team. I'd be in favor of Drake getting more touches than Yeldon but I dont really see Drake as a workhorse type back, so if he gets a bunch of touches some of them need to be passes. I'd love to see Drake get about 15 touches, but i think it's more likely that Yeldon gets about 15, Henry gets 10, and Drake around 6-8.

I've said this before, if we are in 3rd/4th and short against OM, Henry should be on the field. I don't trust Yeldon to make it between the tackles against their hyped up defensive front.

i'd like us to just put the ball in Blake's hands and let him do his thing.

but i wonder what we will do on Goal line situations. If Dom is taking over at RG (and lets all cross our fingers that he does) who will be used as the jumbo fullback?

Yeldon will bang on the inside early, Drake will get touches on the perimeter, and then The Beast will be turned loose in the 3rd and 4th to completely break their will. Roll Tide.

Drake still hasn't shown he's serious about holding onto the football.

If I'm making the call even though he's absolutely electric with the football he doesn't see meaningful carries if I have Yeldon and Henry as alternatives.
