Rice rushed: 240 yards and 481 total yards against A&M D and 10-21 on 3rd down(47%).

Arkansas rushed: 285 yards and 484 total yards against A&M D and went 5-15 for 3rd downs(33%).

Interesting stat: Arkansas rushed for 91 yards in 25 carries in the entire 2nd half.

From what I am seeing out of Arky, it looks like Bert will turn the ship around

They look as good as anyone with their starters, but they don't have the depth to hang for 4 quarters against the elite teams, not this year

I will be surprised if they don't pick up 2 conference wins and a bowl based on what I have seen so far

Next year will be better and 2016 SHOULD have them competitive for the west

They lack depth and competent play calling

The big takeaway to me was Arkansas' ability to hold the Aggie offense in check for 3 quarters. Not shut it down, but certainly hold it in check.

I'm sure Aggie fans are pleased that you were able to hold the Arkansas rushing attack in the second half. If they had been able to rush on you the way everyone expected in the 4th quarter, it would be a very different conversation today. Whatever the factors, A&M got it done on defense in the 4th.

The big takeaway is that it took Texas A&M an entire half of football to realize that Brandon Allen is awful.

Someone already did:

quote:

Arkansas vs Auburn Def:
25 First downs
9/16 on 3rd downs
346 total yards
21 points

Arkansas vs Texas A&M Def:
22 First downs
5/15 on 3rd downs
484 total yards
21 points

LINK

edit: Arky had 153 rushing yards vs. Aubie.

....with what is considered a "meh" defense

Arkansas just needs depth and it will come. Not worried about the future at all.

Their secondary impressed me. Flowers is a beast also. I think they just got worn out on defense at the end

Arkansas may eventually get the depth to be competitive but they'll never win it all with BB. He's a horrible gameday coach.

And I'm not sure what the point of these excercises is. Are we to believe the players are robots and play with exact same intensity every game?

Did the Aggie defense bring as much effort against Rice as they did Arkansas? Do Rice and Arkansas run the same type of offenses?

Is playing Week 2 vs an SEC opponent different than playing in Week 5 vs your 2nd?

Irrelevant.

Like everyone, I am surprised at how well Arkansas is playing despite the W/L record. I think it speaks to the likelihood of having success with this style of football in a league that is moving so quickly to up tempo.

Whether it can actually win the league is a different question, and one worth asking in a year or two.

Once we get the depth we will be able to tell. Just isn't there right now. We haev a lot of red shirts so the depth is coming.

I thought he threw the ball well off play action. In the second half, when he had to throw, he didn't do so well. Think he was 3 for 7 for around 16 yards with Ags loading up on the run. Not going to get it done. Overall he played pretty well. Dropped snaps hurt them a lot.

Arkansas punted 7 times and it should have been an 8th time but we had our head up our arse on 4th and 10. They punted 7 vs Auburn.

Hogs 3rd leading rusher was the punter with 51 yards.

Not only this, but Auburn was the Arky superbowl this year. They prepped all off-season for us.

Coaching flaw on your part. Coaches said in post game they saw what you were lined up in and knew we coudl run the play perfectly.

They also said they almost did another fake punt but you put another guy in the right spot last minute so they bailed on it. Your coaches learn from the 1st mistake.
