Tubby Smith and Les Miles - similarities in fanbases?

So, I'm reading all the Les ranting by LSU (and non LSU) fans. It got me to thinking about the similarities between Les and Tubby during his time at UK.
Both have won National Titles for their schools (most would say with their predecessors players).
Both have great overall winning percentages
Both have a propensity to lose games they shouldn't.
Both seem to struggle even with great recruiting classes.
Both have witnesses a division rival rise up and overtake them (For UK it was Florida, for LSU it's Bama)
The Les bashing I'm reading now is similar to what Tubby went through his last couple of years at UK. Fans just were not satisfied with winning, when it didn't end in championships. It's not a bad thing when the expectations are reasonable, but I'm sure it wears on the coaches and they grow resentful of their own fanbases.
Tubby finally couldn't take it and bolted for Minnesota. We hired Billy G, went through 2 more miserable years, then climbed back to the top.
So, if the same holds true for LSU, Les will leave for maybe Michigan or somewhere after this season, they will hire a up and coming coach who will embarrass the school, and then hire Saban for his last few years of coaching.

Yep. Every program aspires to have those "year-in-year-out" expectations, but it's certainly not that much fun sometimes.
I always have said the "rise" to the top is so much more enjoyable than once you've gotten there and have to try and stay there. Expectations are a double-edged sword.

as a fan of both programs you got a good point there...

That is the public line but privately you need to look at the nepotism limits at UK.
UK would not embrace Eddie's son as CiW and he was gone
UK would not embrace Rick's son as CiW and he was gone
UK would not embrace Tubby's son as CiW and he was gone
All 3 wound up at programs that would accept deals involving their kids. Some say a similar issue was behind the view at Indiana but I have never been able to verify it. Pretty sure the same would apply to Cal if his son decided to try and become a bb coach.

I don't think Bama fans are having a hard time enjoying themselves

We did try a coach in waiting in football and it was a disaster. None of the coaches sons you mention would have been ready for UK.
Eddie left because of his cheating and drinking, Rick left for his dream job, and Tubby left because he no longer felt the need for the ridicule he was taking.
