The word is the summer was that our safety positions were of concern to Boom and I didn't realize just how bad it was until UK & Bama. The secondary play of Jabari Gorman & Marcus Maye just have not been consistent and its been bombs away by two teams. Keanu Neal, Brian Poole & Marcell Harris have all played some and so far the jury is out....but I think Duke Dawson may get more playing time real soon...you hate putting true frosh out there in crucial situations...but he has had a lot of fall practice under his belt now. Can Tabor transform to safety rather than corner? Poole has played a lot at corner.
We miss Cody Riggs.
My eyes are going to be watching the secondary a lot against UT to see what kind of production we get back there. UT has only 1 bonafide Wr threat and that's Maquez North and he only has 14 catches so far. Worley has had 9 sacks to deal with plus hands in his face with turnstile OL & no run game.

If our secondary can get their shite together with the long bombs, our defense will be fine.

They will give up some yards, but if they limit the long pass plays, we will be in every game this season.

Alabama couldn't get their running game going until the 4th Q.

Not making any excuses for our shitty secondary & safety play, but we are getting zero pass rush.

Well, I think one of the problems is that they have such easy over the top balls so it looks like we're not doing much back there. If our secondary could stop these teams at least a little, I think the pass rush would be more existent.

Last two games have been hard to watch, though.

The only way to beat UT is to light up Worley like UGA did today....he stood tall but was pounded the whole game....OL of UT is porous as hell. Worley rolled out a lot with success and hit passes on the run.

Look for Poole or Dawson to play nickel. Gorman losing reps.

Quincy and Tabor going to play outside if Poole goes back to Nickel.

Worley really hung in there, and even though Peterman wasn't very good, their OL was still crap. We do really need to get after him in that regard.

Jalen Hurd getting 120 Rushing yards and getting 5 ypc behind that Oline is no small feat.

Cody Riggs transferring really screwed the secondary up imo. He was setting himself up to be the anchor behind VH3 imo.

That 120 yds rushing is kind of decepting...Hurd lacked burst and leg drive whenever I watched him this year...but he did finally start running slightly better late against UGA....and partly because UGA was only concerned about the passing game.

Of course against us he will probably have his A game ready and he will improve with snaps, but has no help from OL.
