Per a former Michigan Captain

Not sure I 100% believe it. Definitely an interesting insider grievance with Michigan AD

As far as Miles is concerned, Brandon flew to Baton Rouge to “talk to Les Miles,” while talking to Les at the Baton Rouge Airport he proceeded to tell Miles why he wasn’t going to offer the gig. Including “I can’t afford you.

And yet Hoke now makes almost as much as Les does

I think Harbaugh let it be known the NFL was his next stop
I think Miles is probably too much like Lloyd Carr to ever get that job, his chance was in 2007 when he probably could have had it if he wanted it. At this stage, Michigan would want someone younger than Miles.

I mean I can see Miles wanting to go to his Alma Mater but these type of "X was begging for the job" from someone invested in that program are almost always garbage.

Sounds like someone is trying to start a campaign to get the AD fired. I do not believe either Coach would have taken the job when Hoke was hired. Time and circumstances might have change factors the last 3 years.

Michigan has fallen to the doldrums of college football. These two "Michigan Men" may view it as their duty to resurrect the program.

Michigan people have to explain their situation to themselves somehow.

This is called rationalization.

From what I understood Lloyd and Les had some kind of beef and the AD in 2007 wanted a clean break from all of it. I think he was a lot closer to leaving after 2010 than he was in 2007. If LSU wasn't primed for an NC run in 2011 I think there is a good chance he'd be there now. If Michigan wants to stop their backslide they need to go with a proven winner like Miles or Harbaugh and not some young hot name.

That being said I don't want Les to go

I am sure Les has some interest in the job, probably quite a bit. He's getting to the stage where retirement doesn't look that far away and coaching at Michigan as the last stop is likely very tempting.

He has a great job at LSU so Michigan would have to make him "Godfather" offer to get him though.

Lester Miles will be the next Michigan head coach, Dan Mullen will be the next LSU coach. Mark it down

If Michigan was smart they would get someone like Miles for the job. He has a lot of mileage on him sure, but he would probably do a good job of getting Michigan back on track before he retired. That way the young up and coming coach they hire has some tools to work with and doesn't have to spend the first few seasons trying to rebuild the team.
