So we all know that Georgia's secondary is dogshit. It's bad. Real bad. What's not bad is Georgia's pass rush. Leonard Floyd, Jordan Jenkins, and Lorenzo Carter along with inside linebackers Amarlo Herrera and Ramik Wilson have been pretty good about generating pressure in the 2 games we've won. This is an absolute necessity for us to win this year. Our pass rush has to cover the arse of our shitty defensive backs.

That said, this matchup favors Georgia heavily. UT is tied with LSU in the SEC for most sacks allowed, with 9. This is a matchup that Georgia SHOULD be able to exploit and mask some of the issues that we have in the defensive backfield.

Now I have no idea if those numbers are legit or not. I haven't watched Tennessee's every play this year so I didn't see all of the sacks myself. UT fans, is this a misleading stat or is your offensive line in that bad of shape?

(I would put this on the UGA board but I would like to discuss with some of the UT fans that don't have access to the Georgia board)

On one hand, We played one of the best front seven in the country with two true freshmen on the right side of the line, so there's that.

On the other hand, we'll probably be starting that same line against yall so...

To me it comes down to our offensive game plan. If we can effectively neutralize your rush with quick passes, screens, and quick developing running plays, we have a shot. However, after our play calling at ok, I'm not exactly the most confident in that. I hope to god we utilized this off week the way we should have.

I would imagine it's true. It seemed like OU had 4 sacks in the 3rd quarter alone.

Look for Tennessee to try a lot of quick passes early to deal with the pressure. Also, we finally starting using somemisdirection runs with Hurd to counter the OU pressure (first time I've seen that all year) and we were having much more success running the ball than we had all year (Hurd ripped off two 40+ yard runs vs OU with this play).

I started feeling a little better about this in the second half when they were going to Hurd with the screen pass and the misdirection runs.

Then Bajakian goes 5 wide, empty backfield on the OU 5 yardline and I lose my fricking mind all over again.

I actually think this is a positive. Going into the OU game, CBJ had two different lineups in the previous two games, three lineups including the OU game. Now that this lineup will be a unit for the second consecutive game and beyond, this should only help this unit as they will have practiced as a starting unit. Most Oline breakdowns are communication issues as well so this should improve as well. So, to summarize, UGA fricked

I agree it's a matchup to watch and would love to talk further. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get access to the UGA board

Oh well your decision by rights and thus I respect it.

What's incredible is that even with how bad the OLine got torched all night, we had success moving the ball. The pic six when we were on their 2 about to score and the touchdown that literally went directly through Crooms hands for an interception that left 14 points off the board and killed us. There is no doubt in my mind that the game is competitive this weekend.

IMO OU F7 > UGA F7 by a size able margin fwiw. Eric Striker is a full grown man.

I think this entire game down boils down to can UT "slow" down the run, just enough. If so, than we'll give our selves a chance to be in the game late. If not, that backfield is going in dry.

Got a vote which went my way in the Help Forum and then when it changed to request via the system I sent another request because that's what Chicken said we were supposed to do. It was near the change so maybe that's part of. Regardless, I DO understand it your board your rules. Just enjoy talking.

UTs OL is a work in progress and its understandable that Worley has been sacked 9 times. North would have more catches but the qb just doesn't have the time to wait on routes.

I think Worley throws a nice spiral and is pretty accurate when given time...which isn't often. Hurd has the lowest per carry avg in the top 20 of SEC backs if memory serves me right...again the OL isn't a huge help...Hurd is a frosh and learning on the job...so theers that.

Seems like mismatch except for the intangible of coaching...Jones will have the burnt orange playing hard....but in the 3rd or 4th qt the roof falls in.

UF goes to Knoxvegas next week and its do or die time....its should be a good one...our defensive front seven vs UTs inexperienced OL... and our offense trying to find itself still. We win and its green grass up ahead with several home games. Lose and its tough...but the SEC east winner may have two losses?

What's your outlook for Saturday Prof?

I've watched a little UT this year, but not enough to know much.......except that the receivers are really good.

TBH, I feel like no matter how much anyone has watched regarding this UT team, we're just a flat out mystery in a lot of ways. If UGA's DLINE is close to OU's it's gonna be rough going for us. I like our chances against your secondary though.

Our skills positions are legit but like everything else we are sooooo young and we are going to make some inexplicable mistakes. I also like our D overall - the speed is there, the edges can play, and AJ and JRM are monsters at LB. BUT unless our oline improves not much of that will matter. If our oline does manage to get better then game on (not saying a win by any means but it will be a game).

I've never followed a UT team so hard to get a feel for. Nothing would surprise me - not an UGA blowout, a close game or even an upset.

The D has really been the surprise of this team - they're good.

This. We were all pretty cocky and confident in a prediction thread a couple days ago but I think that was just the nature of the thread. In no way do I feel comfortable about this game.

It's just too hard to get a feel for if you know the teams. We have so much talent/potential but we also have little experience. I think we'll be a better team as the season progresses and our young guns get experience and the OL has time to gel. But this series has always been crazy and who the hell knows if the lights have clicked on enough for UT give you a game.

The odds, logic, and evaluating the teams on paper alone favor UGA but this series and especially this UT team is hard to predict.

I just hope we have an injury free game that is fun for fans.

BTW, y'all are welcome on our board. We have a lot of UGA posters and I'd definitely sponsor you. I'm a fan of good ole fashioned football talk!

Amen to the lack of injuries in these games...Jesus Christ our whole team went to the hospital after this game last year. Win or lose, just hope we leave this game ACL's intact

No doubt! I know a lot of fans aren't sincere when they say that but I am. I've always hated to see injuries like that ruin a season for anyone - player or team. I've never seen anything like what happened last year to UGA - so many injuries without even contact!
