Since so many SEC memories have been made at Neyland I thought y'all might enjoy this. Personally I love the history of all teams.
1921 (It was still simply Shields-Watkins Field):
Capacity was ~3200
1934:
Here's what Neyland looked like in 1948:
For reference that's the same size Vandy has today so we've always had a thing for large stadiums.
1972 our first Night Game!
There have been many changes since but I like the old stuff best and figure everyone is familiar with what Neyland looks like these days.
Please feel free to post pics of your own stadiums. I love seeing how things change.

Lot of haters up in here. Don't understand why, either. Please post your own stadiums and history. I'm sincerely interested.

I live how general Neyland actually personally designed all the expansions up til the renovations of the early 2000s. hell of a talented guy

Thanks and very nice. Is there a place I can see some old pics? Would be better if you posted but I'll def. follow a link. It's always fascinating how things change and I love SEC history.

Bleachers then and now. Actually we've added more chairback seats. People have just gotten fatter.

Thanks! I need to check out your new facade for myself but from the pic it really looks nice.

Neyland was the worst stadium I've experienced in the SEC. And I've been to Vandy.

So the whole legend of Tenn "redrawing the seat lines to up the capacity" is just a myth? Interesting. Why even make up such a thing?
