The Detroit Lions reportedly will sign inside linebacker Josh Bynes off the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad to help fill the vacancy left by Stephen Tulloch's loss for the season.

Didn't realize he was only on the Raven's practice squad. Thought he played a lot the year they won the Super Bowl.

He did more than most late round/UFA guys... he just lacks the speed necessary for today's NFL.

Fairley and Bynes. I (might) have to start watching the fricking Lions.

Dislike Stafford and very much dislike Reggie Bush. So still prolly not but good for Bynes to get back on the field.

Im a Falcons fan with Cam being my next fav. Not the Panthers...just Cam.

He did. Which actually surprised me. I never thought he had the size for an NFL LB. Major heart, but not the size.

He played in their first game this year. They must have demoted him in the last few weeks. Glad he is getting a shot in Detroit. Best of luck and wishes to him.

He is about 6'2 245lbs. That is not undersized. His issue is that he is slow. His football intelligence is of the chart and he is a future coach imo. That made up for his lack of speed in college, but not in the nfl.

To show how the NFL values speed, Neiko Thorpe is still in the NFL. playing for the Raiders. Shocking fact of the day.

Lions signed LB Josh Bynes off the Ravens' practice squad.

Bynes appeared in 15 games last season for Baltimore, making six starts and grading out as a top-15 inside linebacker at Pro Football Focus. He's a run stopper at 6'1/240. Lions DC Teryl Austin was with Bynes in Baltimore last season. Detroit needs the help after losing MLB Stephen Tulloch to a torn ACL.

Great for him. He was a undervalued asset once he was gone. I'd take him right now over what we've got.
