FYI in case you misread the dateline... this was August last year.
Cedric Jefferies' trial ended today. He was not tried with Wade.

whats the difference between trafficking and intent to distribute? I assume with trafficking you would have a lot more of the drugs?

Should be "not guilty" on the charges listed in the article, and the evidence presented in the article. No witnesses to anything except speeding through a school zone. No probable cause to search anything. Any evidence seized should be suppressed.

Jefferies didn't own the car and he wasn't driving the car by anyone's account but the cop, who said he recognized the passenger not the driver, on initial contact.
School was not in session at 3:15 pm on Aug 21st at that elementary school.

One digital scale was in plain view in the passenger floorboard, the other digital scale (yes, there were two in the car) was visible in the map pocket of the driver's side door from the front windshield. Both windows were rolled down when the police found the vehicle.

If it's an Athens jury trial, there is no telling how it'll go.
Of course, facts will come out in the trial that aren't in the paper. That's why it's a bad idea to try cases in the media.

If a trial already has been going on the defense lost any motions that may have been filed. Prosecutors often are loathe to try relatively minor cases like this more than once. Wade may have flipped. I'm gonna venture a guess of guilty not seeing the jury's makeup.
