Will SEC coaches force an end to divisions like they did in basketball?

They basketball coaches got rid of divisions two years ago due to an imbalance between East and West and to enhance league's chances of getting NCAA bids.
If the West keeps being this good, someone is going to complain about the imbalance and something will have to be done about it.
Same scenario could play out

i doubt it, it isn't really the same scenario because of the relative quality of each division compared with the rest of the country

What woulf be the point? You have a championship game not a tournament.

The divisions are even in my opinion, just like basketball was.

The west is better than the east right now, just like years ago the east was way better than the west. Its cyclical, and doing away with them would be stupid.

Let's not talk common sense here. The SECW was always better.

Don't see it happening...unless there's a future change in NCAA rules. If I understand correctly, under NCAA regulations for football, a conference must not only have at least 12 teams to have a championship game, they must also be divided into 2 divisions with the winners of each matching up...

Already did...
1995...
1996...
1997...
1998...
2001...
2005...
2010...
There have been many years when the two teams with the best conference record were in the same division (and one was left on the outside looking in).

The divisions in basketball were pointless to begin with.
They serve a valid purpose in football.
Divisions are progress, no sense in going backwards.

No you dumb shite. Not unless they want to end the SECCG. You got to habe divisions to have a CCG.

no, SECCG is too much of a money maker at this point.

Just send one of the Alabama or Mississippi teams to the East and Either Mizzou or Vandy to the West.

If the SEC W wins the SEC this year, they will have finally tied the SEC E with the most consecutive SEC titles by one division :)

This isn't anything a 9 game schedule won't fix.
Playing more cross division games equals more exchanges between the divisions and will make the divisions even out quicker.
Right now it is almost like we have two mini- conferences.

I am naively holding out hope for The Roommate Switch.

You don't have to dissolve the divisions, just count your division wins and losses and it works itself out. If the East would improve it wouldn't be that big of an issue. LSU becoming a bottom feeder has weakened the West though.
