Sometimes there is more to sports than who wins or loses, and sometimes even the most heated rivalry in college football can be put aside for the greater good.

Saturday was one of those times.

When Alabama quarterback Blake Sims took the field against Florida, he wore a new accessory on his right wrist, a purple bracelet that simply read “Kayla.” It was a tribute to Kayla Perry, a 19-year-old college student who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of pediatric cancer that typically presents itself in very young children and infants, 18 months ago.

Great man.

Same for Jason Dufner having that golf tournament for the tornado victims in Tuscaloosa. In the end, it's just a game, not life and death.

Someone posted this article yesterday I believe and it had probably 60-75 replies filled with compliments for Sims and the girl. Not saying it shouldn't be posted multiple times though because it is for a good cause

I respect Sims and hope he only throws 3 interceptions in the Iron Bowl.

It's the fans who lose sight of reality b/c of a football game, not the players.
Kudos to Sims.

Great story: to Sims

Is Coker gonna wear one to honor the loss of Sims following the OM game?

yet all the douche bags on ESPN talk about is Jameis Winston acting like an asshat.

Thanks for sharing this, there are so many good kids playing college football yet we only hear about the flamboyant assholes.
