Per JGT, Carl is on pace to begin doing football related activities in about 3 weeks.

If he's just starting back in 3 weeks I say hold him out for the year unless we're still undefeated when he can return

I say start him when the docs say he's ready regardless of wins or losses.

I doubt we keep him for longer than 3 years and I think most people think he definitely wouldn't stay longer than 4 if he redshirts this year.

If the doctors say he is healthy and he can contribute, why wouldn't we play him since that extra eligiblity won't be used?

We just had a Freshman on my kid's high school team do this. He made it three plays before blowing it up again. He's done with football for the year now and might be done forever.

It's not worth it. Take the time and get yourself right. I hate it, but this is Auburn. We should have someone to back him up.

A week ago. He slipped it in a thread that got very little attention.

I trust Dr. Andrews and Gus are going to be very cautious, and if Carl does get hurt again it won't be due to lack of medical foresight.

Was his ACL fully or partially torn?

I think Lawson should take a RS year, get back to being a beast in the spring then dominate next year. Lawd knows we will need him. Lots of seniors on this team.

RS or not he should be gone after next year. Only scenario he wouldn't be is if he keeps getting injured, which doesn't work in the team's favor anyway. Set him up for a big year next year unless you're absolutely sure he's healthy and 100% some time this year, then play him then.

I live in Bham. The kid I was talking about went to Dr Andrews' practice. I'm not sure if he saw him or not.

I think this is the key. I remember everyone saying it was a minor tear and something that almost went unnoticed. You don't recover from a complete ACL tear this fast.

Any Ortho Surgeons in here know what reinjury rates of partial tears are and recovery tmie?

Partial is what I have heard and it makes sense with the way the injury was diagnosed.

Also read and heard from a few places that he is on track to play vs USCe.

Nah man, I really want 19 yr old Carl Lawson to risk his health and future just so Auburn can have a better pass rush as soon as possible
