The suit filed Monday in Los Angeles claims Baucham suffered brain damage as a result of playing the game despite being dehydrated and sick before the game. A redshirt senior that season, Baucham left the game in an ambulance after making three tackles in the first half. He never played another game for USC.

I once played an entire game with a canker sore. Felt pressured to play, but never complained.

Did the doctors clear him to play? If so, I that should relieve Kiffin of some of the liability.

Will probably settle, but I don't see how they make Kiffin negligent. The player had a concussion previously, and USC doctors would have likely cleared him to play. So maybe the USC medical staff might have been negligent, but not Kiffin. If the doctors clear the guy to play, it seems to me the coach wouldn't be liable.

How can you force someone to play, unless he told him he was off the team if he didn't play? The doctors had to have cleared him.

Don't know where you got this old photo, but if Bert's high school coach truly made him play with concussion problems then his focus on player safety makes sense.

Did the kid not know how to say "No".jk

Obviously USC is negligent.Kiffen was an employee of USC.He may be named in the suit but, imho, the blame goes to the people who are supposed to keep stuff like that from happening.

Player is crap, support Kiffin... Auburn had Chaz Ramsey say that when he hurt his back lifting weights.

Chaz should have sued karma.
